Very interesting interview, he answers about Marko too and the tracks that he usually sings, some were rearranged for Floor and Troy voices (which implies the new bassist is not a vocalist) It appears they almost stopped the band when Marko announced the departure but luckily for us they ended up carrying on. Great that he already is writing new material.

At start it was Lord Byron's quote: "There is pleasure in the pathless woods, there is rapture in the lonely shore, there is society where none intrudes, by the deep sea, and music in its roar; I love not Man the less, but Nature more."

What I love about Nightwish, is that it isn't just a band. It's Tuomas soul's reflection as music. You can feel that it's genuine, it's caring, it's deep. P.s. tell me "Blue" in the beginning doesn't remind you of Ramin Djawadi's Game of Thrones soundtrack 😊

I just love this second cd, my favorite is Quiet as the Snow, it gets me to tears every time. You heard the wishpers in the beginning of it, they are saying the song title in many different languages. Also did you realize that it was Floor singing those beautiful parts in these songs! And Tuomas playing piano and keys. And yes it was Troy with pipes. I listen to this second part usually in the evenings to relax and meditate such an amazing composition, the wall of sounds, magnificent!

Thanks for doing this whole masterpiece album! The first quote is from Lord Byron and the second quote is from Carl Sagan, both spoken by Geraldine James. Tuomas calls this piece of music his love letter to nature. I can really recommend to check out the official video of Ad Astra as well, as it links beautifully to the lyric video of Procession.

In some parts it reminds me of Kooyaniskatsi, a film that had no words, only music and images. In that film, by Godfrey Reggio if my mind isn't mistaken, the magnificence of our planet was portrayed, followed by what modern man's lifestyle was doing to the planet. I remember leaving the cinema in a shocked state of mind, such was the power of the images and the music. The way Tuomas has presented the music, and the anonymous filmmaker has put together the images while having the elements of a cautionary warning of what we can do to harm our planet, does have a feeling for the magnificence of our rocky spacecraft, and a more positive view of our capacity, and willpower to avoid destroying it, our only home. Tuomas' music is magnificent, and the images add by providing a visual interpretation. Great stuff!

The beginning quote was from Lord Byron. Floor is doing the vocalizations on this music. Great comment my friend. This is very much "meditative". This really gives us all a window into Tuomas' soul and world view. Remember Thomas, we humans are a part of nature. Only a small part of history."Anthroporcene". "relating to or denoting the current geological age, viewed as the period during which human activity has been the dominant influence on climate and the environment." Did you catch the quick visual at the end of the red planet? Was this a hint at where humanity's destiny may lie in the near future? If we want to survive our devastation of our home.

Anthropocene has an ancient easter egg in it - Hurrian Hymn to Nikkal - oldest annotated music ever discovered! It's all quite wonderful, isn't it ☺️ my favourite remains "the Blue"! This is what I have to listen when I can't get sleep. My insomnia is quite severe, I often have to listen this second disc twice to finally fall asleep. But I also love listening to it being awake. I cannot but wonder Tuomas' knowledge and apparent interest, not only to nature but also to the human history. It's a pity many people only listen the start of the disc. The one with the interesting name, containing "Hurrian hymn to Nikkal..". That is actually the oldest piece of music ever written down - in cuneiform a few thousand years ago, found in northern Syria.

Wonderful seeing your reaction. What a brilliant piece of art this entire album is, and I had no clue what to expect from this second part. I feel like I held my breath through the entire thing the first time I listened to it, and by Ad Astra, right as the spoken words end and I actually processed them, BAM everything crescendos (and of course Floor does what she does best), I'm pretty sure I cried through the entire end of it. It's become my go-to when I need inspiration, and I hope it'll keep inspiring you as well! Hope you enjoyed that walk, take care :)

It will be cool to have such a beautifully put together drone footage and the time lapse photography such gorgeous footage and quiet as the snow and everything you see and experience top tier production quality beautifully put together everything about it Tuomas and his crew should get like some oscars or some kind of recognition for this kind of work and for this level of documenting as much of the natural world in all its majesty. Everything anyone could love about the life on this planet can be found right here with the ultra high definition cameras and timelapse footage someone like Tuomas Holopainen or those around him deserve some very nice recognition for this just absolutely stunning nature documentary or series of with as much drone footage they have holy smokes what nature masterpiece. the music is tailored rhythmically to match the beauty and intensity and the biorhythms of the natural world and the seasons each one has its own rhythms that make it unique like the moors or the green like i said its absolutely stunning

The beauty of Tuomas' genius is that it is unconstrained. This leaves some behind, but that is to be expected. The entire album - both CDs - is a masterpiece, and Tuomas stands easily in the company of modern composers like Sibelius and Nielsen, Ralph Vaughn Williams and Karl Orff, Hans Zimmer and Thomas Bergersen. The second CD in particular is breathtaking and at times heartbreakingly beautiful.

Dear Thomas, this reaction of yours was such a wonderful treat! Don't worry, it's not boring in the slightest. Very entertaining, at least to me personally. Loved to see your reaction solely on your face while listening (laughed at your eyes when "Aurorae" started tbh, was that for the theme, music or video footage, or all of these?? xD). The few words you were saying throughout the reaction hit home at quite some moments as well. "therapeutical / meditative": 100% agreed. For the music, the video and the combination of both. My mental health didn't do well during the last 6 months but this MV always managed to calm me down and get me back on track. The music does the same when I cannot watch videos. I usually refer to the song and/or video as a "mental journey", bc that's what it puts you on imo. It was nice to see you thinking similarly of it. "cleansing to watch" would be another quote from you in this video which I'd agree under that same topic. And obviously, that "almost out-of-body experience". (May I recommend you to listen to this piece in an as empty as possible room with your eyes closed next time? You might get on a "mental journey", too! ;D From my own experience, "The Green" does one of the best jobs in this matter. If you allow yourself to dive into your imagination, led by this music, you can almost smell the fresh woods and might even end up to see some fairies dancing in the sun beams~) "gateway to his mind and his genius": Just wanna mention, I LOVE how you put that!! Phrased perfectly. ♥ "just doesn't feel right to give it words": Well that nailed it. I guess some pieces of art should just be enjoyed, not talked over endlessly. Aside from the relatable quotes: I enjoyed to learn you're a fellow nature photographer!? As one myself I could so FEEL all the photographergasms(? lol) that occasionally showed on your face so clearly! I think when I first watched this MV, most of the time I just stared at the screen with my jaw dropped in awe. xD Those shots are simply amazing and I really wonder what it takes to catch some of those lighting situations... (sighs in imagery satisfaction) One confession: For some reason I actually thought you'd tear up VERY hard during Ad Astra! But you kept it together surprisingly well, respect for that! Then again, Moors hit you more than expected. I mean, this part always hits, like the entire piece, but yeah. What can I conclude best with? Maybe agreeing with another point: We should be so GRATEFUL to be this LUCKY. How are the odds to be alive on this wonderful Planet Earth, and during that EXACT SAME TIME when Nightwish exist and are blessing us with their masterpieces? How are the odds to be born in THIS generation, just a few years (considering the age of Mother Earth as a whole and how long mankind has been here in the first place) after WWII, and instead of this horrible time of the world, we live in one where we can enjoy such wonderful music and get to know each other through the most amazing technologies our species ever came up with. (Obviously the world we live in right now is messed up in many ways as well, that's just how humans are, sadly, but I mean. We're so dang lucky to be part of our generation instead of the ones of our grandparents. THE ODDS!!!) I didn't even mean to write this much but this music, your reaction etc. was just so inspiring!! Thank you for this wonderful content, have a great day and stay safe! Greetings from Germany ♥ ... Another side note: Speaking of odds. The timing of your reaction to this, which I've been looking forward to ever since I found your channel, couldn't have made it more special for me. I had just written my last final exams of vocational training today, only have one oral exam left... Afterwards had to ride my bike home through a heavy rainstorm for an hour... Then when I finally got home I opened YT and saw the notification of this upload!!!! It was just such a PERFECT way to end all of the stress I've gone through during this year and the last weeks. For this alone, thank you again and again and again. Absolutely made my day. (Sorry for talking so much about myself, I just wanted to explain to you how this particular reaction with this timing means so, so, so much to me! ♥♥)

Hallo mein frund! Danke schoen für diesen wunderbaren Kommentar. (This is probably a bad translation 😂) That was a truly lovely comment to read. Thank you firstly for watching and sharing this. I honestly don't feel like my reactions are anything particularly special. So to hear that my words mean something to someone is extremely encouraging for me to hear. For me, it's just a pleasure to discover this music and share appreciation with others. Hardly any of my friends here in Canada even know about Nightwish so it's awesome to meet good people like yourself and geek out together.😀 Speaking of geeking out, cool that you're a photographer too! Do you have an instagram or somewhere you display photos? We really are so lucky and there's never a bad time to be reminded of that. There is still so much injustice in the world. Even us living in 1st world countries have much better life than so many which is a shame and hopefully that will improve but truly everyone is fortunate for life. To be born during a war or before technology seems like a horrible though. Thank goodness for music! Sorry to hear you went through some struggles recently but congrats on finishing your exam. I am so glad that the the timing of this worked out well. Again, we are lucky to have art and endless content to keep us entertained and inspired during difficult times. You definitely deserve some relaxing/celebrating. I can tell by your comments that you are an extremely compassionate, eloquent and intelligent person so I'm sure that many great things are in your future. Thanks again and take care! 😀👍

Hey Thomas! What to say... Epic! Truly epic. This was, like you, my first time hearing the whole thing. Tuomas really outdone himself in this one, I can't even imagine how to even start writing something like this... And indeed, beautiful video to accompany this masterpiece! So thanks for doing this one, I don't know if ever would have experienced the whole thing if you didn't. Catch you later my friend! 🎼🎶🔊🤘 Btw, got soaked on your nature walk afterwards?? 🌧️😉😄

and about time dude 🤣. Tuomas is officially a musical genius. First time I listened to this opus, I followed the advice he gave in an interview and took myself outside into nature which for me is the sea cliffs near where I live. Watched the gulls hanging in the air and the waves crashing and yes dammit, got more than a little emotional. Might ‘see’ you at the concert dude, I heard or read it’s interactive (avatars). 🤗💙🇬🇧

Thanks Jeff! Yes, I think I recall you mentioning that and I totally see why. I had to get to nature and away from electronic screens immediately.

I love the development of elements of the music throughout. The melody developed near the end of the moors, is brought to its triumphant crescendo in Ad Astra. I get really emotional at the end in Ad Astra after all the build up. btw, I heard Floor's added vocals throughout, with the choir. She now sings Ad Astra to close out the concerts for the Human::Nature tour starting with the 2 Virtual Concerts. Thank you for this reaction and showcasing this wonderful fan video. I had seen it before, and it and this Nightwish music is a masterpiece I intend to return to often.

First reminds me of Procession (easy one) Second sounds as if its equal to Harvest. Good for falling asleep. 3.the opposit Song of Pan and Greatest Show on Earth. 4. Is Shoemaker/Music related. 5. Spring Themed, Endlessness Theme 6. Antriphocene..has a Tribal kind if flow Ad Astra..Procession Variation and again Greatest Show on E. That is at the End of that Song when they bow down and they all line up while she is singing the last Notes til the Cascade of the Ending of Ad Astra.

It is quite something, isn't it.. 😊 My favorite parts are Green, Moors and Ad Astra. I hope you'll still continue with earlier Nightwish stuff on your channel in future? 😊 Also, that shirt is awesome! 👍👍

Thank you! Yes, those three are stunning. Moors is definitely a contender for me. I'm glad I've finished the album so I can go back to older stuff again. 😀

Lovely. Hope you had a beautiful walk and revelations about the universe. Good to contemplate the universe. Would be lovely indeed to meet at a concert and experience it together. Defo will be at the virtual concert too. Let's see how that's gonna work out but Floor said 'this is something else!'...so..buckle up.

I dont know if you are aware of this, but Ad Astra got a official video, not that this fan made part isnt very well made, but it tells more of the partnership Nighhwish got with World land trust, and stuff, i put the link if you want to react to it separate, or just watch it yourself. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jNmYo7Nzp8vMqHk.html Tuomas did say about this 2ndCD, the nature part of the album, that it was just one of those things he nedeed to do, and get out as a artist, like hes solo album about Scrooge Mcduck right, and well a artist should really put out, what he feel is needed for him t to let out, to make hes process work right, and for me personel, im pleased Tuomas did this, as i now also got meditation music from my favorite band, just perfect to me, and i love both CD´s.. its just one big masterpiece to me..

Thanks for that! As I said, it's very hard to react to this piece with any sort of analysis, because it is very emotional, very grand, and outside of most reactor's experience. You did it justice. And you're right, that video is magnificent! I'm also looking forward to the stream at the end of the month but more than that, I have tickets to their show in LA! If California allows it to go forward, I'll be there! I'm so excited!

Thank you Randall! I'm glad you think so. It was a challenge to say anything meaningful for a piece of art this grand, like you say. I have my fingers crossed for you that the gig goes ahead! To see them live after this past year or so will be an overwhelming experience I think.

It means a lot to us, Nightwish fans the dedication you've put through this whole journey. Thank you so much. On your next NW reaction it would be cool to visit some really old school work, specially "The Siren" and "Creek Mary's Blood", both form "End of an Era" DVD. Cheers from Brazil!
