To be honest HR is not remote work, because you are there for the people. You have to be there to build trust and have to be reachable.

I recommend bookkeeping or an accounts payable position. Pays well if you know it well and does not require an accounting degree. Accounting work is often remote. I have an accounting degree but I prefer working with people so I’m thinking about an HR career.

Good video-been in a company for 5yrs. Good 4yrs review. I survived a compay re org recently. My manager is a micromanaging type of a boss. Gotten into his position 5yrs ago through promotios so he dont have manager experience. Most of my colleagues in my team been there for much longer period than the manager and myself. I think that' makes it hard for him to treat them the way he treats me.. I was recently put on PIP- with set to fail objectives. And most of the objectives i saw and heard about them for the 1st time in the PIP. Went to HR- HR asked i talk to my manager despite the fact he was the person i was having issue with. I went to my boss's boss, he was very empathetic, listened to me but still stood for my boss. The whole process has triggered my PSTD. Currently am signed off by doctor. PIP is incomplete. I intend to leave the company. But i need severance package to help me as i search my nxt job.whats your advice on this?
@HeyyyHR
@HeyyyHR 11 ай бұрын
I’m sorry to hear you’re going through this. Severance packages are give at the company’s discretion. I’m a bit confused, which is usually why I prefer having a call for detailed questions. What do you mean by, PIP is incomplete? What do you mean by “currently signed off by a doctor”? If I’m reading those two things right, then it confuses me why your question is about severance. It’s been a while since you’ve posted this question so an update would be helpful. Let me know if you’re interested in scheduling an hour call with me. The current cost is $197.

In the company I worked for one of our HR quit . Everyone loved her as she is able to balance policies and understanding and listening to us as employees so now we have a new HR and no one likes her: she focuses more on the company’s policy and less on listening to us employees , most of us our feeling not listened to and it’s making it difficult to even want to work , so my question is who do I go to if I can’t communicate with HR if they aren’t understanding and listening to us employees. ?

Newly breaking into HR, employee handbook sounds interesting. Can you provide some details about what that entails?
@HeyyyHR
@HeyyyHR Жыл бұрын
For me, it entails knowing what the organization needs addressed first, what pain points the org has, what works for the org and what the culture is like. 2. Creating "rules" that can work for current situations and the future. You literally have to think about every possibility. 3. Getting a template or creating a format to put all of it together in one. 4. Getting leadership to review it and make their adjustments. 5. Having an employment law attorney review it. 6. Make final edits then finalize with the company's branding and unique parts like CEO Welcome, company history, etc. 7. Getting it to employees, then getting employees to all sign off on an acknowledgment of receiving it.

@HeyyyHR

Well, you shouldn't never bring those benefits to contractors directly. You should only present benefits to employees. In my case I presented to everyone that attended our company-wide events in a presentation. That group included contractors that attended.

If you are already in a hr related field or have the entry level background then becoming a HR Specialist is the best way to go. You will be specifically working in 1 or 2 areas of hr, but finding a benefits specific role is a bit challenging on the entry level, simply because company’s benefits can be drastically different from one other and you may have to show the employer you have a general experience in benefits. Starting as a HR assistant and asking your employer to learn or specialize in benefits can help just to get your feet wet and eventually get promoted into the specialist role. Hopefully that helps but you’re open to ask more questions.

What I know about HR is that they are not a Police department. HR is not there to play the role of judge and jury. Human Resources are just workers like everybody else. If there is a conflict between two workers, HR is going to do what's right for the company, not the victim. They usually try to get rid of the victim, especially if the victim is on the lower hierarchy of the corporate structure. That means if you are being harassed at work, you only have two choices. You either put up with it or leave.
@HeyyyHR
@HeyyyHR 11 ай бұрын
I’m not the police - absolutely right. In over 10 years of working in HR I have always done what’s right, which does not always align with the company. Some times, companies appreciate it, other times I’ve gotten retaliated against or fired, so please do me a favor & put this negative comment to the HR departments that have done you wrong instead of my channel where I’ve educated my subscribers on topics that have literally costed me job opportunities. Having this channel is not an easy thing. My career is at stake often. It’s just annoying to have strangers come on MY channel to offend ME simply bc someone else has wronged them.
@bmoshareholderappleshareho855
@bmoshareholderappleshareho855 11 ай бұрын
@@HeyyyHR I was brutally honest. From what I have experienced, read on the internet, and seen on youtube videos, here's the message I am receiving: Don't go to Human Resources, unless you intend to leave the company soon. I have read stories about people experiencing workplace harassment. They went to HR and the situation got worse. They had to leave. If you are experiencing workplace harassment, what you have to do is continue to work there until you find more suitable employment. That's what the unemployment commission told me to do. Life is not like you see on those silly Hollywood sitcoms.
@HeyyyHR
@HeyyyHR 11 ай бұрын
@@bmoshareholderappleshareho855 please do me a favor - read BOTH replies in its ENTIRETY before commenting again. You’re comments are offensive to me! I’VE lost jobs for helping, educating & guiding employees. I’VE been retaliated several times bc I do what’s right. YOUR experience or the info you’re aware of is opposite. I get it. Hence the reason I created this channel to let the world know that every HR is NOT THE SAME. I’m simply asking you to put your feelings elsewhere, not my channel where I literally have & am currently being told “No Timeka, you cannot have this job/promotion/transfer bc you have a KZfaq channel that doesn’t align with our business practices” or “could you please remove this video, that video, etc” or been fired bc I started a channel without putting what the company wants me to put on my channel. These aren’t scenarios, word of mouth, etc - this is MY EXPERIENCE AS AN HR PROFESSIONAL. The irony right? I know it sounds like a dream to you that an HR professional doesn’t backstab employees, victimize them etc. That may be why this channel has nearly 10k subs. I’m different.
