My wife and I had a humanist wedding. Absolutely perfect. All the good stuff from religious weddings but without all the silly dillusional religious eccentricities. A truly fabulous decision.

davlor86 That is very true. I have seen countless people insist on Church weddings for the "romance" factor. For me its the worse possible thing I could do.

This is everything I wanted and didn't know it existed. All I did all my life was trying to please my family on pretending to believe in something I do not. But for my future wedding I will stay true to myself. I won't marry in a church, I'll have a non religious wedding that it's more meaningful to me and hopefully to my partner too. I hope there's this possibility in my country, Portugal. Because I certainly never heard of anyone doing that here.

(Note to anyone who views this as wrong or sinful) Not everyone was raised under that which is religion, Not everyone is comfortable with a setting set strictly around religion, others who desire a more personalized wedding custom may have their personal reasons in which they wish not ever to speak of. Do not ever force your religion apon anyone. You never know what an individual has experienced within their life. If you know anyone who is attending such personal event you as their family or friend should congratulat them. If you are so narrow-minded as to dare critique a cuple's very special day, then you have no right to attend at all. This is not about your beliefs. This is about two people and their love for one another. Keep you books, artifacts, and symbols out the door and shut your mouth. (If you are offended or enraged by what is written here then leave this page and think for long while about what thoughts processed through your mind)
@brightonandhoveabortionnew74616 жыл бұрын
what gives you the right to tell people to shut their mouths?
@mahisha96585 жыл бұрын
Yes have you ever thought this comment can offended the public as well?
@tiffanyelixir14325 жыл бұрын
I'm a little late to address this, but whatever. Its not about "the right to shut people's mouths," it's more of "take responsibility for what you said/might say." As a beloved teacher once taught me, put responsibility before rights. It's like a murderer saying, "I have the right to be free" even though he killed someone. And as for "have you ever thought the public could get offended," yes, he/she has taken that into consideration already. He/she already stated that right in the beginning, addressing only to those who think having this kind of wedding is wrong. Like what he/she said, this is not a matter of YOUR beliefs, it's a matter of two people coming together to unite.

i had no idea i could do this. ive put off getting married to my 15 years gorgeous partner in crime. Im not pagan Christian or religious in any way but a ceremony where i can promise to be his equal and protect each other is perfect. i will not honour and obey but i will be true always bake cakes with no dairy and love him for all eternity.

I honestly don't understand why somebody would want a generic marriage, having a personal and unique one actual means something. You might as well not marry if it isn't special. I personally would want one abroad, in the tundras of Scandanavia, preferably near the northern lights, but that wouldn't make it very practical. Then the money would truly be well spent.

My humanist wife and I had a humanist wedding. After the ceremony, we transported everyone to the reception by a rented bus.While on the highway the driver lost control and we almost soared down an embankment. My wife screamed in fear, "God help us!!!!" It was almost as awkward as nearly crashing.

We can develop the laws, we can increase our books forever as we live, we can develop the Police security system in our homeland. but, the prophet can't Develop his law, and, he can't increase his book pages Because he died . The Agnostic Humanist "He is not under the control or guidance of any supernatural being or beings but he has to rely on himself and his own power". I like this and I agree with it because when you rely on yourself and your own power you are relying on your nature. and your nature is exactly the same nature as Elohim. What I'm proposing is that when you depend on yourself and rely on yourself you're relying on your nature which is the nature of Elohim. What I'm proposing is that the Elohim nature is the source of our nature. The nature of Elohim is Intelligent Communication, touch, sentient friendship. That's how we have Intelligent Communication, touch, and sentient friendship in our lives. We take after the Elohim. Our Real Originators are light beings. they're made of LifeLight (shaped like humans) and they respect each other. and stand together in a circle. and hear one another non-verbally. they understand each other. they're totally in unity. These are Divine beings and they are exactly perfectly equal to eachother. and when they placed their hands on each other's backs to do a circular hug. a bubble of light came out of them. And this light was the universe with all the stars moving and everything in the universe takes after the nature of Elohim which is orderly, purposeful friendship. You can discover in science that magnetism is what keeps the stars from colliding and keep the perfect orderliness Among the Stars so that there's no chaos and life can bloom. but the point is why there is no orderliness is because he came from these beings. only what is in the nature of these beings is what we see expressed as our universe.

I usually don't why some of you humanists think that being non-religious is a non-theistic thing. It really isn't, because not belonging to any particular religion doesn't make you an "atheist" by default. There are plenty of "non-religious theists" who do exist. Non-religious=/=non-theism.
