Some immature people just love booing the commissioner. It's actually a tradition for every sport.

Stevo Canuck he never played the sport, hes a business man, all he cares about is getting the nhl more money.

Aside from the lockouts, he has done great things for the league

When he first became commissioner he was, how to put this, he didn't seem to care about tradition, hockey is a sport that values tradition more than most, he also made some really bad marketing and TV deals, over the last 4-5 years he seems to have "gotten it", however, it's now become a tradition to boo him no matter what, he has gone from looking angered by the boo's to accepting it and in some cases welcoming it. This video shows that more than most.

BTW, I was at Staples Center in 2012 when the Kings won their first cup, Bettman was booed then, my major issue with him now is, he never played hockey, never coached, does he even know how to skate, but every year he touches the cup....For me and a lot of fans that is a big no no, hell I have seen the cup in person many times, had my picture taken with it, i've had conversation with Phil Pritchard (the Keeper of the Cup), he has asked why I don't touch the cup, I explained to him that I have done nothing to earn the right to touch....If Bettman came out in an interview and said "it's dawned on me, every year I hand the cup off to the Captain of the winning team, I shouldn't be doing that, I haven't earned the right to touch the cup" a lot of the more hard core fans would get behind him...Except those in Philly, they will always boo him.
