What is the diameter size of the jacket over the 2 wires? Also what gauge are the wires inside the jacket?

Do the magnetic transom mounts move around the transom while you're moving, needing adjustment? What is the cost of the mount shown in the video? I have the Helix 5 DI GPS unit and i currently have 7 stitches in my left hand. Basically i don't want to try to use a drill right now in case they rip out haha.

Sorry to hear about your hand. What kind of boat and fish finder do you have? If it's a small Aluminum boat or kayak it will not move around if you set it up correctly, which is not difficult, as you can try it out in all sorts of spots as it is magnetic.

Hi, Im asking you because you know about this fishfinders and chartplotterrs gps. I want to buy something similar as the garmin 5dv or the humminbird helix 5 di . I prefere the garmin 5dv but dont know if it comes with maps because in all pictures I see it only has a waypoint map on a blank space. can I download maps for it? Now the hummingbird helix 5 di looks that it haves maps. Can you tellme if the garmin has maps and if I can download them? an if the Hummingbird comes withe maps or I have to dowload the maps?

Hi Francisco, the Garmin 5DV does not have maps - it's solely a GPS from my understanding - neither can you get downloadable maps for it; but you can get models within the Helix series where you can get downloadable maps or Navionics/other cards that are compatible, as far as I understand it.

Can I connect that to my portable hummingbird 197c case? using battery as well? or do I need to have a bigger battery power?. And do I need an Inline fuse for this?

Hi Jay, your question is a bit confusing. The only part of it I understand is that you are wondering about a fuse: Fuses are not required for the fish finder to work, but they are a safety mechanism, guarding the electronics from any short circuits, etc. Please restate the first part of your question if you like, and I would be glad to answer the question once I understand it better.

+Float Tube Fanatics & Fish Finder Mounts .com Yeah sorry about that. To put it this way, Do these come in Portable, with battery? I have a portable humminbird 197c, I just want something I can attach with suction cup so I don't need to connect anything to my boat, any mounts ect ect... Thanks!

Hi Jay, I'm not sure if this one does, but our fish finder mounts make any fish finder portable. We don't use suction cups however; rather we use magnets, like you see in this video here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iuCpaa-m0MCVh40.html

Hi. so the fish finder has been installed for some time now. I have one issue with this unit. sometimes when reading the bottom, example at 400 feet, it gets lost and then starts reading 0' or say 4', which of coarse is an error. I have to then power of then power on again to reset the unit to start reading properly again. and this may happen several times. Its very annoying. any idea why this may be happening?

all it says is hummingbird helix 5 sonar. don't think it does gps. so I want to get an additional unit to do the gps. what unit do u recommend?

+Aldean Louis if you have a smart phone get your self boating app also known as navionics.. it lets you chart gps tells you speed of travel, mark waypoints and it covers alot of bodies of water..

+Aldean Louis Hi Aldean, what model of the Helix 5 series did you buy? If you are asking about how you get your GPS working?? You must have a model that has GPS built in. But if you have one, and are asking about the maps, usually you have to get a navionics SD card or something similar to get all the mapping..

I would try to return that Helix 5, and the Helix 5 Model with the GPS built right into it. Hummingbird told me it was 5x3 screen size.

Hi Terry, it's as I say in the video 1/2" wider & 1/2" shallower than the elite 5x. Overall the screen size would be the same, but the Helix has an HD resolution.

Actually aluminum is NOT magnetic.

Works awesome with any material. The magnets act like a invisible clamp - pulling on each other through whatever material they are on. Apologies if this wasn't clear :)
