In general, the TI units are faster in response to inputs. This is seen when quickly switching between sonar, downscan, chart, and split screens kzfaq.infoUgkxeAxH15LxhjGlg5-CRYqjTGTEH0tbY4vk recommend The Hook units will show some lag on button pushes and screen switching. The big ticket item though is maps. If you install a mapping card such as Navionics or the free C-Map Genesis which has a lot of map detail, then moving around the map with the cursor or when running down the lake can lag significantly on the Hook units, but is seamless with the TI units.

Great review even if it's 2 years old to me. I soon will need to replace my old eagle fish finder. I see that this hummingbird is still 139.00 at Wal-Mart, but it is 99.00 at my local Bass Pro Shop. 👍

Just FYI I bought the same one from cabelas and for an extra thirty bucks I got a 2 year extended warranty in store replacement and if they no longer have that one they give you next upgrade.

Not sure if I'm getting images of trees and brush definitely get images of drop offs any more suggestions I really loved the way you explained this fish locator now I have my fish alarm on

Did you consider the Garmin Striker Plus 4? If so, what made you choose the Hummingbird over the Garmin?

I did consider the Garmin striker plus 4. I passed it up for this because I had no need for the gps navigation system. Plus the price difference. But that would have been my second choice because it does have a lot of features for the price. I also understand from some research that Humminbird is better at their Down imaging and sonar tech than Garmin.

i HAVE THE MAX not the DI model . Mine has down imaging too but the trasducer is much smaller. Which way do you point the transducer and how far below the water should it be?

U should support the wire From the transducer down ,ease it towards the 2 supporting screws cause this way the water current will pressure it towards the opposite way

what the crap are the numbers on the fish. Mine gives them random numbers and im wondering if it has to do with size?

ProfessionalDad the numbers are suppose to represent the depth of the fish.

@@rjguess I have the PiranhaMAX 4. Not saying you're wrong, but Ive seen them numbered from 1 to 300 in 8ft of water. Still learning but the manual is junk.

Yes, you can tell they are fish. Especially if you run into clusters of bait fish and crappie.

I bought that same one last summer I went to go use it today and it doesn’t power on anymore 🤦🏽‍♂️ I freakin only used it for 2 months last year. I never ever left it on the boat i always removed off the boat when I was done fishing and stored it inside the house . This sucks !!

Chasingwaves 😡 I would be upset man! That’s ridiculous. Mine still works fine. I’m like you when I’m done fishing I bring the unit in the house. Have you contacted Humminbird?

@@rjguess Right !! always being super careful with the fishing stuff lol .. today I was able to take another look at it when I came home from work . I took my multi meter and disconnected the power wire and found out there was a break in the that tiny wire!!! where it came through the floor of my John boat so now it WORKS !! 😁😁😁 happy as a pig in shit lol .. I defiantly got lucky I was not up to contacting hummingbird and trying to get this fix. When I took it to the lake to fish that day it was already close to dark and didn't have my tools with me It was Hot as Hell during the day and it finally cooled down a bit all I wanted to do was Fish on Sunday night. but yes super STOKED its not broken any more ..

That hummingbird beeps once fish pass near you within 40 feet that's what you want it's only cheap one that beeps so when you hear that beep you know you got fish 🐟 next to you that's what you want in tight spots ok the water this is great for them sea eagle fishing boats

I got mine from work I got point for working 35 years at nestles food in Gaffney sc I can’t get I to show the fish first one I’ve ever had it show the bottom real well I’ll check back later if you know what I’m doing wrong please let me know thanks I’m Roy big fish

It’s weather proof. I bring it in the house when I’m not using it. It can handle rain and water being poured on it.

If you would have listened to my video I clearly stated that I was not very familiar with the unit. So I just did a few things on it. Also I stated that I was going to make another video out on the water. I did that. The video shows my experience with it out on the water. There is not much to this fish finder. You plug it in and it’s on. You may have seen it as a waste of time but you gave me watch time minutes. Thank you.

Sorry you feel that way. 4,500 views in two months with plenty of likes and positive comments is not useless. I also specified that I did not know the unit so I wasn’t going to act like I did. I also said I would make another video of it in use out on the water. I also did that. That video was done maybe a week after this video and it has far less views. Thanks for your comment and watch time, what little of my video you watched, you have supported me regardless if you thought this video to be useless or not. 👍🏻

David Carroll I’m not offended. I just don’t agree with what you said about this video being useless. I think the number of views, thumbs up, and other comments speak against it being useless that’s all. You have the right to say it is, so I’m not offended. I just do not agree.
