Today we are going to read very interesting memoirs of a German soldier. It is remarkable that he describes the everyday life of a German soldier, their equipment and attitude to the war in quite detail. He is a rather cheerful person, so he feels free to tell jokes remembering those tough days.

This has rapidly become one of my favorite channels on KZfaq. It never ceases to amaze me how many of these soldiers give the impression that the Russians didn’t have the right to fight these invaders with every means at their disposal.

It’s incredible how naive these soldiers were. Invading another country and then being critical and indignant about your treatment.

You claimed bombing by the American’s was wrong, but it was ok to bomb London. V2 rockets, buzz bombs, I guess it depends on what side of the fence you’re on.

"vengeance weapons". These diaries are so plentiful and all pay homage to the empathy and generosity of the Nazi soldiers. Rewriting history one fictional story at a time. Apparently German civilians after seeing Jews being herded away never thought about where they were going and ended the war being non-complicant. Ask the people of Coventry and London if the bombing of Germany was wrong.

@@robames1293 Bombing of German civilians was started by the Brits. Germany simply retaliated. Good grief, even British historians agree with this!

I can't remember anyone being made out a hero for sending V1 rockets to London. Just saying...

I can't give an example but i would bet a penny to a pound the Nazis were bragging about their "wonder weapons" in the media. Newsreels exist showing the U Boat Captains and crew being treated as heroes after torpedoing merchant ships and passenger ships so yes there were heros on the Axis side.@@th.burggraf7814

What were the round canisters like a small barell used for that are hanging around the soldier's necks at 15:20?

Interesting and informative . Excellent photography job enabling viewers to better understand what/whom the orator was describing. Fighting/perishing/surviving knowing certain death/debilitating wounds were often times possible. Yet still advanced forward regardless of the consequences. True grit style determination to succeed. Unfortunately for a diabolical 😈/disillusioned/arrogant/treacherous. WW-1 Corporal dis patch runner 🏃along with a few disciples. Whom cared less about their predicaments/casualties.
