Mansoor was an insecure dude. Couldn’t digest that a woman is educated and self aware, has alot of additional capabilities other than studies as well. He destroyed her self esteem, the brightness on her face and her bright future. What did she get in the end. A little praise from her inlaws because of her dedication ? Is it worth it ? If her father felt bad for his daughter he could have taken her out of that hell. He was just too selfish. The trauma remained with her entire life, thats why she kept holding onto those memories and those letters.

I just cannot accept that parents who claim to love their daughter, dump her into a bin of such slime as Shehwar's father, an idiot of a man has done. Instead of getting her out of that hellhole, he urges her to be patient and bear all her in-laws' and mama's boy husband's nonsense. This drama has glorified meanness, pettiness, villainy and disgustingly unfair, inhuman treatment of a gentle, well behaved, educated and sensitive girl. Shame on such in-laws and hundred times more shame on her father.

I think you are missing the point, this is the reality of Pakistani girls, they are solely carrying the burden of making the marriage work. I would know, my story is similar to Shehwar's, even though my in-laws are not illiterate or uncultured people. I was deliberately made to feel low and taken jabs to bring me down! I still persevered Alhamdullilah, I fought by being polite and quiet when they were unreasonable. It helped build my case, to show my husband how unfair things were. If I came into the family and demanded my rights, I would be shown the door for sure. Doesn't mean it was fair for me but women have to sacrifice a lot to build a home sadly.

@@wg3951 --This is what girls and women should fight against. Why should she alone have to be the sacrificial lamb? And why should her parents become the slaughtering hand? Just to listen to people, who are all basically nothing but sadists, commend them for, "kitni achhi terbiat ki hai apne; beti susral me sub kuch berdasht kerti hai aur uff tuk nahi kert;" as if it's a great thing to bear untold cruelty for no reason, except a mean family's jealousy and satisfaction by bullying the helpless girl. If you sufferred in the same manner, you did wrong, even as you are wrong to condone this inhuman behaviour. By what right did her mother in law stop her from using her belongings, and then take them all away to give them to her own daughter to use and enjoy. What is wrong for the daughter in law should be wrong for the daughter too. I am sorry this is not fair at all. Let me remind you of the Hadeeth that states "one who endures oppression is as big a sinner as the oppressor." Besides, dramas such as these are made to make amends in the society and do away with social injustice, not to propagate them.

Sehwar ke papa ne saadi to galat Karwai par ekbar saadi ho jaye beti ki to kya Kar sakte hain?
