Thanks man may check back in with you on this. What tips do you have for getting the shims out? I think I need to remove mine. It looks like getting to the nuts on the back of the frame will be a big pain. If I can get them, maybe I can do it without pulling the entire control arm apart and removing. Looks real fun either way. Rides much better though already with the lighter springs! Big difference

@@sdalin27 upper control arm has to come off to access the bolts holding them in. Most of the shims then slide out from the bottom after loosening the control arm bracket except for 2. To remove the last 2 you have to remove the control arm brackets completely as those shims are not slotted. I used an impact for the easy stuff, then an impact and a socket wrench braced against the frame from behind for the hard to reach places. It’s tight, but doable!

Springs were off Ebay. www.ebay.com/itm/352472462785 . P/N 81085. How much tire angle would you say the shims resulted in? From positive camber to neutral or close? I think that's going to be my next move as there's no other variable that will adjust that.

@@TheBosleyMusic Did you run into issues with the bolts on the back side (inside) of the frame rail? Did you have to unload the springs? Or do you just support the lower control arm from underneath and take the top parts loose? It just doesn't seem like a low involvement surgery

I have not. I am planning to replace all 4 corners with an air suspension using LR4 Landrover parts because the smaller springs have made my payload capacity super weak

Gotcha. I already installed the two front springs and even after cutting a 1/3 of a coil they’re still too long. The springs look like they want to pop out. So what I thought about doing was installing the rears and dropping the truck on all four tires. Drive it around for a little and see how the springs look after. If they steal look like they want to pop out I’ll just go ahead and fabricate some new spring seats for the front. I’m going to attempt to install the rear springs without cutting them. I just need to buy the different style spring seats like the ones that you have on your truck. So aside from the payload capacity how did you like the way the springs feel? Didn’t really make that much of a difference in the payload capacity? I’m not planning on towing anything but I do have two 42s spares and a jack along with a winch in the back.

Thanks. I think so but I'm not sure on the cutoff for height. I guess I'd do a relative percentage of what was taken off the rear when compared to the original rear

Do you have more info regarding, if its same coil spring as Pathfinder and Armada etc. I am in Europe, so no Armada here..

No I dont. somewhere in the video it compares the stock with armada spring wire (.81") diameter. Maybe is a place to start. Could also look at Armada GVRW and find something in a similar weight class. There's a lot of science to spring rates etc, but at this stage its best approximation with experimentation @@Stigman11

It's a lot better. I think going to a lower rate shock would help a lot too, but before when going over bumps this thing sounded like someone smacked the bed with a 4x4. It doesn't do that anymore and can feel it moving to absorb bumps now. The springs have settled in a bit and the bad positive camber I had is going away too

@@maddrummer910 Ive never ridden in one with runflats, but going from the mil tires to civilian tires and wheels was a major improvement on my buddy's truck where we drove it with both.
