Just finished doing this to my H1 I used 4 gal sound and 2 gal ceramic

Nice. I used 2 gal sound and 2 gal ceramic. I probably could have used another gallon of each but was able to make it work by focusing more on problem areas for sound and heat

Wouldn’t there be a benefit to spraying the firewall (engine side) and underside of the body too?

So 2 gallons was enough to do two coats inside the truck. But you didn’t do your hard top, dog house, or doors. I’d also think that doing the firewall or underside of the body would be smart!?

Also how much of each of the lizard skin products did you need, couldn’t tell if they were one or two gallon buckets

I appreciate your style, hit the high points and a basic overview and show the results. I'm working on a semi build on my channel and I'm looking to black out the tanks without transferring heat to the fuel and found your video. Looks like a great job. Any problem with adherence? I'm planning on using your same process, ceramic insulation top coated with bed liner. The bed liner companies recommend self etching primer but Lizard Skin says sand my raw aluminum tanks and it will bond without issue, then apply the bed liner topcoat.

Thank you! Yeah, I followed Lizard Skins instructions on mine. It hasn't shown any issues with adherence, so far anyway.

Did the Raptor Liner help tame the texture you were seeing on the CI? Mine came out fairly course as well, but I was hoping the Raptor would help smooth it out. Mine looks like major dirt magnet in its current state. 😕

It did. Expect to spray more of the raptor liner for the amount of area though. It takes more to get a good first coating over the top of that lizard skin.

@@tossthewrench Awesome, thanks! I was considering thinning the first coat just to make sure it gets down into the CI texture. Hope it was worth all the effort. 🤣 I greatly appreciate the feedback!

Was it the sound deadening coat and then ceramic insulation coat and then bed liner?

Sound control then the ceramic insulation. This was recommended by Lizard Skin. Then I added the bedliner over the top. I recommend thinning the bedliner for better coverage if you plan on doing the same.

Looks great. A lot of hard work. What type of primer did you use on the bare metal? A self etching?

Yep, it was a self etching primer.

How has the wear been since you did this job? All still intact? Or any chipping/cracking? In high traffic areas

Wear has been pretty minimal. I do recommend spraying this stuff more smooth if able. If you top coat and have a section that was more roughly sprayed, it can try to wear the rough section down more so you might have to top coat again if this happens.

Great video... How much improvement on heat and sound ? It would great to put out an after 6 months video on how lizard skin performed

It cut down the heat from the engine/trans tunnel significantly. The sounds seems to be a lot quieter but that test will really be better once I get the doors on.

How much raptor Liner did you use?

I used 9 bottles but could have gotten away with using less. I wanted to make sure the coverage was really good inside. Also, all the angles and hard to spray areas inside make you have to use more trying to get it all covered.
