Humza Yousaf seeks legal advice over nursery ‘discrimination’

Humza Yousaf has said he is seeking legal advice after raising concerns that his daughter was discriminated against by a nursery.
The health secretary explained that an application for his two-year-old daughter was refused twice by Little Scholars Day Nursery in Dundee.
However, he said that an application made by a white Scottish friend for a child of the same age was accepted within 24 hours.
Meanwhile, a second application under the name ‘Sara Ahmad’ was rejected.

The nursery has kids from many different backgrounds, he is only stirring it with the discrimination card because he lives more or less next to the place. What a shame his plans have been turned upside down. Reminds me of the black guy driving his car and got stopped by the police. You only stopped me because I’m black, he said, thinking he would be sent on his way rather than get into a racism row. No sir, said the police, you were doing 50 in a 30 mph limit - name please ! I hope the nursery sticks to their guns and doesn’t back down because of who he is, or who he thinks he is. Welcome to the real world Humza, if there isn’t a place,go elsewhere.. That jobs certainly gone to his head.

Your story reminds me of an incident where a christian/atheist white supremacist because of his overwhelming racist behavior kicked a black Muslim and when asked why he did this he told "sir I was doing workouts and when exercising my ankle the black person intentionally came close to my ankle and I had kick him accidently"

Hope the nursery sticks to its guns, get a fund me page, I along with others would gladly donate. Anything to keep this excuse for a politician from ruining someone else's business. In anything he cannot get his own way, he cries racism. Sooner he resigns and gets a more suitable job,sorry forgot he has only had one job in a call centre for a couple of months. That's what I like from my health minister ,a wealth of experience.

Legal advice would have been not to go to the papers with it. Maybe they just didn’t want someone high profile there for the sake of the other kids, maybe they didn’t agree with your politics, maybe they just don’t like you. Given that the Nursery has Muslim families there already and is owned by an Asian family it’s hardly likely to be racism. In essence what has happened here is that the SNP are damaging yet another Scottish business in order to deflect from their many failings lately. Although I might disappear now for saying that as Scottish government is becoming like a dictatorship lite, getting worse day by day. Say no to SNP hate!

This shouldn’t be in the media. Not yet anyway. A local business reputation is in tatters for unfounded accusations. Mr Humaz’s position means he should tread carefully and due process should have been followed. Instead he went straight to the media. Racism is a problem, however trial by media should never be the norm. An investigation should have taken place first. Timing of this is suspicious too

Further on the story. The nursery were the ones who contacted the care inspectorate and dundee city council. No formal complaint has been made. Instead the complaint was made to the newspaper. Second the nursery have tried to offer an explanation but Mr Humza has not been in contact with them

I wonder if there has to be a certain ratio of white/christian children and non white/non christian children - to cater for their needs and preferences. Or maybe they have to have a certain number of non christmas staff working at the nursery. Whatever the reason, he's a happy man as he gets to place the race card yet again.

"Hate" should never be a crime. It is immoral to legislate thoughts and feelings.
