Police Scotland have said they would not be taking action over Harry Potter author JK Rowling’s social media posts about transgender issues.
The writer, who has become an outspoken critic of the Scottish Government’s stance on trans rights, declared “freedom of speech and belief are at an end in Scotland if the accurate description of biological sex is deemed criminal” on X, formerly Twitter.
The Hate Crime and Public Order (Scotland) Act - which came into force on Monday - has been met with objections from freedom-of-speech campaigners, including X owner Elon Musk and Scottish journalist and broadcaster Andrew Neil.
TalkTV’s Kevin O’Sullivan and Alex Philips discuss the matter with The Sun’s defence editor Jerome Starkey.

I currently can't join a gym. I am an SA survivor and I've been told by all the gyms I've contacted that they are allowing self identifying trans women into women's locker rooms. You don't even have to present as female - just self identify. So, I'm expected to share a locker room with men.

We never had any issues when we all agreed men are men and women are women biological facts. School level knowledge. Then we had Trans people who suffered gender dysphoria. The trouble started the moment the W.H.O (World Health Organisation) dropped it as a mental health issue. Then we followed suit. Majority of trans people just want to be left alone and live life in peace. But it's now out of control. Something is not right.
