Not even one month old yet (hatch dates 1st chick 8th May, 2nd 10th May) and the Rutland Osplets are huge! Dad Blue 33 is seen flying in with a fish, which mum Maya takes while he perches off to one side. Only one chick sits up and begs for food, the other doesn't seem interested but then changes its mind and leans forward to peck at the fish, helping itself to a meal. With Blue 33 perching off to one side, Maya on the other and the two chicks in the middle, the nest looks very crowded. The ringer is expected to visit in a couple of weeks, he'll have to get a move on as these two chicks will be ready to fledge soon at the rate they're growing.

Thanks to generous donations to our Osprey Webcam Appeal last year, we have now installed brand new camera equipment. Our new webcams give a better view and can zoom, pan, and tilt! Not only this, but we have made sure the new system incorporates sound, giving you a fuller experience and deeper insight into the behaviour of breeding ospreys! So make sure you turn the sound up!
