I think you make a great point but there’s a couple things about the Hunta Rig I like. One, in smaller point games where you can only take 2 Datasheets, you could potentially have 3 of these on the table with 2 Killas and a Hunta, if you wanted to run them like that. 2, I like that you could put 10 snagga boyz and a couple of support characters in there to help get them up the field. I really think it comes down to they do different jobs. I think the kill rig will be brought for what it can do and the transport is kinda a bonus to it while the hunta is really a transport with good killy stats.

I choose both of these models to field and this is why. As an Ork Veteran of over 32 years I have seen the death incarnate. As of today the Kill Rig is 50pts more than a Hunta Rig now that they fixed it making it 210pts to field. Atleast on Wahapedia it sais so, and that site is usually reflecting current rules. The Kill Rig is not a Character, however if you choose it over the Hunta Rig it is listed under Heavy Support with the Character Keyword which is awesomeness! It's a free character slot at the same time which means it can lead an Army as a Warloard or if desired can serve as a lieutenant. Besides these facts about this model, the Kill Rig is Awesome for multiple reasons. The Hunta Rig is just as awesome for multiple reasons as well. They are both priced in a balanced way. If you can only take 3 of any one type of model this allows you to field 6 Rigs per fielding rules. These Rigs serve secondarily as antiaircraft protection, especially if you field many of them for a better shot at striking aircraft zipping by. 3 of each, however, well, that comes with a great cost and can be achieved in variants of lesser points spent on fielding an Onslaught Army 😉 In short what we have here is amazing options for amazing models that look amazing. 😀 WAAAAGH!

With how both of these models are priced. it makes it very difficult to play my squiggoths. Both are 190pts but you just get so much more from the Killa Rig. Hoping that when the FAQ comes out they will also update the FW Squiggoths (both sizes).

I'm definitely making the one I own into a Hunta rig only so I can have the Wurrboy on his own. Plus I just love it a bit more for the fluff

Some people hate this model? Seriously? Ill definitely be getting at least 2. Probably 3. I hope they can be magnetized. Definitely gonna run as kill rigs, but ill still magnetize if I can.

As a new player, I'm planning to make my first Patrol unit with a Hunta Rig, using the Wurrboy as my HQ. Once I get a larger army I'll certainly pop him back in his tower, but for now I get a transport, a Psyker, an HQ, and a baller Squig unit all in one box!

Honestly they both need to go up in points a bit. Maybe up a lot for the Kill Rig as it feels a lot more than 30 points better in terms of damage output. The Hunta Rig, when compared to the Kill Rig, is basically a completely dead datasheet. There is no reason I would ever bring one. Even a bigger transport capacity on the Hunta Rig wouldn't entice me. And despite the Hunta Rig being what I'd consider a dead datasheet it still manages to outshine the Battlewagon.

if the hunta rig could carry cav instead of infantry then it would be a solid choice

personally i like the Hunter rig more i wont say its stronger since it isnt. the Kill Rig has a lot more killy then it should for its point cost if it where 20 to 30 points more then i think it would be close in strength for its cost

A grey knights nemesis dread can kill one easy. So not overpriced when compared to a lot of other heavys.

Steve the psycher can also dispell psychic powers and, could let you not have to attach another character to a flank or allow you to support a broader part of the table only sacrificing 30 points. Kill rig just gives so much more utility and all you are giving up is 5 transport capacity, which you could possibly need to cut down a few troops anyway to get your kill rig.

I'm willing to bet both will go up in points, and the kill rig will go up more that the other rig.

KR is the biggest current math fail in point requirements 💯 with you: HR is redundant... probably even with a 20ork capacity.

It really bothers me these aren't squig models. Aside from some niche "always wound on 2+" weapons it doesn't benefit at all from being a Snakebite. And beastsnagga models are supposed to be more snakebite themed!! Like what in GWs brain told them not to make the giant squig not a squig model.

Wasn't sure entirely if I was going to get this model, but ya based on how you laid it all out I would probably only run the kill rig.

I think, aesthetically speaking, two Hunta Rigs flanking a Kill Rig would be a brilliant combination for Gorkamorka, which is what I am psyched about!

Also the kill rig is character sow can be given a relic (and unlock warlord trait) can take 1 of 2 custom Jobs, squig tires or the mortal wound one for 30 points. If is evil suns give it the red paint relic , squig tires. It have then moment 16 and advances d6+3. Get efected from whaag and can run a big mek in a transport behind it shot att tanky units and jump aout and heal the kill rig D3 wounds. I only gona have 1 any way and my army gona be khorne mad max style. Using Sigmar khorne mortals models.

I like the idea of the Hunta Rig but it should transport 21. At current points and carrying capacity, the Kill Rig just out shines the Hunta Rig. Given the Orks leadership issues, the days of mobs greater then 10 are dead. Getting 2 10 BSB and a character in their would make it worthwhile. Otherwise the kill rig wins all around.

Kill Rig is always better then hunta. Not sure your suggested increase in transport capacity would necessarily help Steve. Mortal wounds are too good coupled with d3 auto hit lascannon in an army that normally has only melee for reliable anti big.

No I wouldn't use a hunta rig as everything you get is in the kill rig as well and you're not getting that much value in transporting 5 more models. As either you're transporting 5 beast snaggas which as you've covered previously are slightly over costed, or some characters none of which would be that valuable. As putting a wurrboy in it would just be worse than a kill rig and more expensive, having a painboss in there wouldn't be good as he wants to be surrounded by lots of other beast snaggas and its a similar story for the beastboss on foot as you either want him buffing lots of units or you can cut him and spend a bit more to get the beastboss on squig which in most cases is better for the job.

The battle wagon variants should be cheaper. They are in direct competition with this and are outshined.

Kill rig definitely needs a points bump and I play orks. 30pts I would be happy to lose 5 model capacity. It’s only marginally more expensive than a naked gunwagon/bone breaker yet so much better

Buying 3 for kill rigs they are too good not to take as well as the squig buggies
