I bought my African Rangers because of of the Rose Anvil channel, worn them for 37 consecutive days since I got them in the mail. Probably the best boots I’ve ever had

I bought a pair, also because of this channel. I've only worn them twice. Honestly they hurt my feet a lot. I know there's a break-in period and I've only worn them twice. The second time I wore cotton socks under poly-wool socks and that helped mitigate the way the top of the boot digging in to my ankle. The sole feels like there's hardly any cushion. I'll look for an insole. I don't regret buying the boots but I don't think I'll buy a second pair.
@WiredCustomsSpeedShop

@@theodoreolson8529 they are definitely hard under foot, but that’s something I like, stiff feels supportive, I also had the back of the upper heal wear into my foot. Hopefully you can get some nice insoles for the feel you’re looking for

What a great podcast! I LOVE seeing two businessmen that actually have a moral compass that drives them to run their businesses ethically and admirably. At least that's my impression of them, and it seems to be borne out by the great products offered by both companies. And great KZfaq channels as well!

@@jdlackey88 I had a similar thought, but from a different angle. I noticed that Toaster was all over Gareth Crouch, and he didn't have a problem in the world with it. When Gareth mentioned he's the one who responds to emails, I had to go dig through my emails to actually check when I reached out about sizing getting close to a year ago, and sure enough he's the name on the signature line of the response I got. That's awesome. I appreciate that kind of personal touch in customer service. I've already pre-ordered the buffalo skin African Rangers to add my Jim Green collection.

Same again. The African Rangers I have are my favorite boots I have ever owned. They look nice and you can just feel and see the quality. Wide toe box without looking like clown shoes. The only downside IMO is the insole is painful since it has like a built in plastic shank thing, which is barely a downside at all.

I have the AR8 and absolutely love them, I've been trying to find a more affordable but well built all leather "combat boot" for years and this fits the criteria perfectly. I also have Rose Anvil to thank for bringing the brand to my attention. I'm planning on inquiring about some custom AR8's with a veg tan leather insole if possible. My one complaint/wish besides all leather construction throughout the insole would be a slightly taller/less flat toe box.

What resonates with me is this: I lived in kenya when i was 11-13 years old and our watchman who protected the church compound we lived on was a trukhanna warrior from ludwar, kenya. He used to carry a bow and he would shoot eagles out of the sky to make more arrow fletchings. He had a pair of Chucca boots that were his nice boots he would wear to the town. I saw that Jim Green makes chucca boots and I am about to order some for that very reason. I look forward to a good story, if not ill reach out to have you guys make the experience better.

Comfortable and true to size. Like Weston stated in his review of the Razorback boot, they are a wide width because of the stickdown construction. I would say equivalent to a EE width.
