See their logic is that there shouldn't be a law requiring paperwork to be filled out to buy a gun; but as long as there is such a law, any provisions of that paperwork should be followed to the letter and any false statements made on that paperwork, that might not get filed with the ATF for decades as it only has to go to them when the shop closes, has to be enforced with the full force the law.
