Hunter boots are awesome I don’t think there too heavy. I am male who has these boots in the glossy Finnish or what ever the shiny version are called. The pair I have does not smell. I agree they last a long time. Good quality I think there worth getting. They do sell hunter socks or inserts for the winter I don’t remember what hunter calls them. But I love my hunter boots

Thank you for your excellent review. My rubber boots last 6 months and my Hunters almost 2 years - but I walk my dogs 3 hours a day.

From England, I have worn Hunter Boots since the Mid 70`s and anyone over here will tell you the quality of the boots is nothing like as good as when the Boots were made in Dumfries Scotland the boots are no longer gum dipped and the heels are now hollow hence the squelchy heel syndrome so many Chineses made Hunter boots suffer from. They were the go to boots for work but not any more they are now just fashion boots. Also they are shorter in the leg and ankles are tighter to save rubber and thus costs evryone over here now wears Aigle or Chameau for a Rugged working shooting boot.

Comfortable especially for mud and rain. Good chance to save other shoes..)

Are they anti slippery?

A major con is that despite making a lot of effort to be "British" looking, these boots are now made in china, and whilst fine for fashion purposes they are not a very good outdoor boot. These boots used to be worn by farmers and outdoors people, but the chinese ones are made badly, and in heavy use do not last long. Aigle and Le Chameau cost a bit more but they are still made in france, and last for a few years even with everyday use, in poor conditions.

I love Hunter rubberboots. It can also be like a fetish or addiction, seeing women in Hunters or wearing them by myself. I do like the smell. It reminds me, that it is Rubber. As a Latex fan, I also like wearing Latex/Rubber cloth, but more I like the look on women. Did you try Latex? Many thanks for this good review. If I could tell you something I would prefer a microphone next to you when you speak. The audio quality is very silent and roomy.

Hunter wellies have been made in China since 2008. Quality / durability not very good - regular wear can kill a pair in about 12 - 18 months. Not good if you depend on them for work. Rapid and premature wear on soles and heels, plus stress cracks on instep, vamp and ankles - all telltale signs of incorrect rubber formulation. Too much filler and not enough latex in the rubber mix means rubber too rigid and unable to flex properly. Not fit for purpose, plus way way overpriced. As others have suggested, Aigle and Le Chameau make much better wellies which will last - these are the ones you can wear all day, every day.
