Recently we found the jewelry score of a lifetime.... plastic bin after plastic bin full of beautiful jewelry. I was overwhelmed and in shock at how much we found... it was NUTS! I brought it all home and have waited weeks for the perfect time to go through it all carefully and now is that time. Are you ready to see what all those cases contained? The heavy black ring with turquoise set in gold that you refer to a 'plastic' is actually onyx. It is not costume.

KJL is Kemneth Jay Lang. The coins are probably Italian lera coins. Seems she was a QVC shopper, The Judith Ripka, Kenneth Jay Lang, Joan Rivers and Robert Lee Morris, highly collectible pieces.

Wow, I'm amazed at the sheer volume. Do you know if this person passed away? It's baffling to just leave all their years of treasure behind. I'm happy you are able to go through and make a living this way, but it also makes me sad for the loss this person went through.

My late wife, could tell 99% of the stones she saw, as to whay they were. Plus she was uncanny when it came to silver, gold, she could tell platinum from white gold. She even knew the "Black Hills" gold, some is green, pink, etc. She had an eye for that stuff. She was the one who pointed out the root beer, red, pink, etc, diamonds! Never saw any one with an eye like hers. She knew designer stuff too. Me I know guitars, & stringed instruments. Miss her, for sure, even after 7 yrs.(the precious metals didn't need to be marked, btw. She was never wrong. A garage sale detective for sure. Even purses & handbags!)

When you are going through lots of jewelry, you can use temperature as one of your tool for sorting. Plastic doesn't feel cold like natural stone, precious stones, and glass. If you put your hand on both you can feel the difference in temperature. If you're running the AC, it always seems even more. pronounced.

Maybe you would consider putting some on Ebay , to give some of your fans a chance to just buy some of the Jewelry. Like the sterling silver rings and the costume. My opinion you would get more money for your costume on ebay than to auction off 8 pieces for like the 80.00 you did this past monday!!! Awesome scores and video!!!!

The 750 ring has a citrine in it, the white gold with the blue clear stone is a topaz. My 14kt tennis bracelet has 2.62ct (estimated) real diamonds but not marked so it's possible. Great unit with some amazing finds! You hit that jackpot!

37:21 is A RLM- Robert Lee Morris Studio Modernist Mother Of Pear SSl ring. Listed on ebay for $200. Very collectable. I collect RLM. New York Designer.

You mentioned you were thinking of selling that 14kt chain as scrap-DON'T!!! Chains like that sell really well-like $150 for a 1mm wide. Of course depends if it's box, wheat, curb, etc type. Check out the chain prices on Ebay. Also lobster clasp is more, as well. Great pieces!

I am so pleased for Jack and Janna. What a treasure trove, and so well deserved. What a haul of jewellery - after all of those amazing clothes - I'd love to know what happened to the owner. Why would you leave such treasures and not retrieve them? I'm glad that Jack got them, all the same!

A little trick for keeping necklace chains from tangling. Run them through a plastic straw, and then clasp it. If straw is too long, cut it so that you can clasp the necklace.

The last bin you sorted had a loose clear stone in the bottom of a compartment. May be from the band with the missing CZ? Loved this, I can't see any of the stuff being plastic...please check for bakelite...I am really sick, watching this and seeing the beautiful colors really eased my pain. Colors have such a beautiful effect on the mind. Thank you for a great video.

There is so much to sort thru and organize it is overwhelming. There are some very special pieces in that massive lot. If you don't go slow enough it would be so easy to drop one in the wrong pile. What you're calling cz could be white topaz, especially since it's gold or silver. Not a diamond, but not as plebeian as a CZ.

Yes, I was thinking the same. Not everything that is not diamond is CZ. There is mossanite, (valuable), white topaz as you mentioned, but also white sapphire and other gemstones...also actual crystal.
