Franklin decided to send me some video of him attempting to locate a stolen Deer hide that was taken by an alpha Wolf in one of his Wolf packs. I figured I'd toss it up as a long-form video rather than trying to make it into a KZfaq Short because of his commentary at the end - I hope you guys enjoy!
Want to see more Franklin? Leave me a comment below & let me know!

It is over 400 miles from Red Lake to Cloquet, MN. That is pack that went through who knows how many packs territory!! They're not afraid of much!!

Their travel routes are vast - There was another collared Wolf that travelled from Minnesota, to Emo, to Thunder Bay, half way north to Armstrong, then headed west towards Red Lake. It was shot on the Ontario/Manitoba border - Huge female dog, but was awesome to see its travel route. In saying that, some folks state collared animals act differently. If you actually research Polar Bears, a lot of them who are sick or ill, are normally collared bears, or had been collared previously. Unsure if it's the collar's frequency, or electronics... but it does affect them to an extent.

Crazy how far it took that deer hide . Killing machines for sure , one the only animals on that planet that will kill for the ale of killing too . Same people believe that bears are like Winnie the pop . Thanks for sharing Franklin .

Yup - Its like they practice taking down an animal, then once its down, they will leave it to rot. Thats why Elk hunters hate them so much.

Set some traps and Snare‘s and weed them out. Looks like a bunch of blind sets would be like gold.
@PatterningNature

We've talked about that - It would honestly be too easy, which is not a hit towards trappers, just the fact that Franklin has been baiting these dogs for 30 years so their main trails are known & they use them over/over/over again.

@@robertmead1015 There has been 12 Wolves taken this last year by guests - You have to monitor the packs numbers. In saying that, if you wipe an entire pack out... a different pack will eventually show up to take over that area, but Franklin has Wolves he recognizes & has been feeding for years now so its a bit more personal for him VS. just wiping out the whole pack. It is for sure do-able, but his guests have already thinned the pack out enough this year. We suspect they will have another litter of 10-12 pups but we will see come early summer once they show themselves on the shoreline of the lake we bait on.

I couldn’t agree more on the people that sit behind a desk and think they know more than the person who lives it first hand. Unfortunately a lot of those people make the rules that we have to abide by

You are correct - A lot of politics involved as well, which is sad. Look at Idaho & the protection of Wolves, specifically in the area of Grizzley Bear denning areas. Just wait until they find out that Wolves will dig into a sleeping Bears den & rip it apart because its the middle of winter & dogs need to eat... I've seen it first hand (Not the kill itself of a Bear out of a den, but the aftermath).

Nothing like hunting 40 years worth of bait habituated wolf packs ! 😂 Makes for easy pickins’. 👍🏽👍🏽 If ya want less wolves around your town !? Quit baiting them so close to town….😂 If it hasn’t yet ? It could become a problem within town ! Up north where I am from !? They come in town when it’s extreme cold and eat up all the dogs and cats that roam about.

Wolves are in Red Lake & Ear Falls regardless of baiting. Look at Kenora & Dryden for instance... The Wolves have pushed every friggin' Deer in a 50KM radius into the towns... Now no one can even plant a potato without the Deer nuking their garden overnight LOL Baiting Wolves close to townships is not a bad thing... It actually keeps them occupied with a full belly & negates them from eating your poodle or chihuahua 😄

Hopefully next wolf season I'll try and make it happen to get up there. See how the budget is and how much more Trudeau destroys our economy. Oops, did I just say that? LOL! Anyways, have a great day!

@@mervjb809 yup, I used to pay closer attention to the US politics as well cause up to 2022 when Trudeau took my job away from me putting on restrictions at the border, I was running loads of specialty horse hay down to Florida and then reloading with produce for Ontario. When covid hit, I just kept running and was loving life cause all traffic delays were suddenly eliminated. And then as a bonus, the Canadian government sent me an email saying I've been recognized as an essential worker for Canada and I was exempt from all lockdowns. Kinda made me feel important for a change. Then 2 years later, restrictions come down and my boss said get vaccinated or find another job. Took my vacation pay and went to Ottawa to try and talk to Trudeau, seeing 2 years prior I was considered so important for this country and now went from hero to zero. 56,000 other truck drivers decided to join me. LOL! But before that I really enjoyed walking into a Florida Wal-Mart with no mask and sending pics back home saying; I love these pro Trump states! But it was sad I had more freedom in Florida during covid than I did anywhere in my own country of Canada. The place I stayed at in Florida let me use his pickup truck to cruise around and do any shopping I wanted. Life was good and then Trudeau stomped on it. So yes, don't even get me started on what I think of Biden. LOL!

when you say you kill wolves to help the moose and deer, it's like saying kill the song birds that raid farmers crops or to help save insects from these birds, joel it's fine if you hunt but make sure it's for the right reason if you want to pattern nature learn more about it before you pick up a gun i feel bad for putting up these comments the wolves asked me to

Ernie, this world is a feeding frenzy. Think of how many insects are killed every day to feed the world’s fish, how many fish are killed every day to feed the world’s birds, how many birds are killed every day to feed the world’s humans, and how many humans are killed every day to feed lions, tigers, bears, crocodiles, sharks, vultures, wolves and hyenas... Let alone the fact we are often buried, feeding the insects... All in all, it's a cycle & humans have a part in that cycle. Firearms are tools & fortunately for us we live in a society where we do not have to eat Wolf, but would I if I had to... Of course. God gave no predators to Wolves, as they are an apex predator, thus leaving humans & natural causes to take care of their overpopulation. Chickadees do not annihilate Moose population, or take down a Deer Fawn just to simply leave it to rot - Except you know what? That rotting Fawn that the Wolves didn't bother to eat is now feeding the insects, birds & rodents... Again, proving the cycle. Love you brother - We all have to gather perspective, not just me, but you as well ❤

Hey, he is the Wolfmaster remember! He is aware of that - He has actually guided Ministry of Natural Resource biologists in a few back lakes around Ear Falls & Red Lake to test tiger Musky to see if they reproduce, what they're eating, etc... He has quite the stories! His bias comes from the fact that Government is so regulated - The biologists should be out doing MORE, but are typically held back by higher-up folks (Mainly to do with $$$). In my opinion... we should have just as many Conservation Officers out on the road than we do Police Officers... Maybe then our fisheries & bush would actually be kept pristine!
