Thanks for the support. I’m hunting it because its close, i have heard there are much better odds with any other hunt but those are 4-6 hours drive away instead of 45 minutes… I don’t mind that it’s almost impossible, if you’ve seen in some of the other videos, we see some monster mule deer, and really, its about getting outside for the adventure with my sons. :)

@@Shouldwegooutside yeah those deer are awesome. It's a great challenge. 👍 it will make you a better hunter in the long run. I've always thought the best elk hunter will be the guy that could go into those otc units and kill an elk in each one! Drawing a primo rut tag takes time but the hunting is easy once you do. 😆

Yeah, i agree with you there. I think those OTC tags are all about home field advantage - most are hunting elk that migrate in and out of those zones, so if you’re local, you have better chances of knowing when they are in. I’ve only been hunting for two and a half years, it’s been a lot of just picking up what i can learn as i go along.

@@Shouldwegooutside well if you ever get out to the east side I have some access to some ranches and some other private property where there are elk in an otc unit. Some of that country I know really well.

@@jacktrout5807 Well if you're serious I might just take you up on that.. Brendan and I had hotel rooms booked and we had a plan to get out there a few weeks ago when that snow storm came in an shut down I40, but we are serious about giving that area a try.

Thanks so much for the support, it really is encouraging to hear. As for the colors: While blue does stand out, because this is a rifle hunt, and we're mostly sitting up on a hillside about 600 elevation feet higher then them, and often 1000 yards or further away, I'm not really worried about that camo. If we were to be moving in to get closer, I'd definitely be more thoughtful on those colors.
