As an NZFS culler in the early 60's, it was good to see it done the old hard way even with a few modern refinements. Power to you mate......

Shot a few deer at Mokokoere hut area in the 60s Especially on the slips and early morning hunt. You have bought back a lot of memories for me. Love your videos and your drone footage. I am in my eighties now. I show them to my family where I used to spend my time deer culling.

Thanks for sharing & I enjoyed going with you. Amazing country you were in. Weather forecasts can sometimes muck up one’s plans. Probably a good thing that the rain didn’t come in to make your river travel harder. A mate & I once camped near edge of a small stream & woke up during a very wet night, with water running through our camp. A rookie mistake & we weren’t even rookies. Hahahahaha

Hi Fred.Great to see your footage.I had an awesome 3 months in spring 1975 culling in the Waioeka. It looks like some of the slips are growing over.Walked in to Kahanui hut with my daughter in October 2019.Tough gig at 64 yrs.

Just shoot them in the shoulder ,they usually fall over where they were standing and you dont need all the meat .During that first drone shot it looked like there was a bush hawk interested in your drone.

@@tanataotengahere5978 Why would I go to pak n save? Im a hunter who likes to hunt , and like I said I could not carry the whole beast out of the bush, because its a 5 to 7 hour walk out of there and could not fit it in my pack, if you WERE a hunter you would understand that, as that is what most hunters do, I think maybe your just one of those keyboard hunters aye, lots of talk but not much action?
