I used a Gerber Vital this past week on a Wyoming antelope and it did a great job. Because of you I went DIY hunting in the West and successfully harvested a Pronghorn Antelope on public land. It was a great hunt and the feeling of accomplishment I got from doing it on my own was amazing. Thanks for being so generous with your time and knowledge.

I usually try to find some cons to go along with the pros.. kzfaq.infoUgkxnkYCgssg4ZO858cyBdD1JPEaUJ9Up1C_ but it really is a good knife. The blade sits centered in the handle when closed (photo added). It opens effortlessly. Unlocks and closes easily with one hand. It’s a great size for EDC. I wish this exact knife came in one of the premium steels to satisfy the knife snob in me.. but it’s a great tool at a great price as it is. Would buy again.

I love my havalon, plus my Falkniven F1. The F1 is a great knive. It's a survival knife for Swedish pilots. But just an excellent knife. Made with laminate VG 10 steel, which is almost dang near impervious to the winter conditions, and holds a good edge, but still sharpens up nice. A lil pricey but worth it in my view. I field dressed to deer last year with the combination and never needed sharpening. And if I do, I have a small strop I made that will bring it right back to a razors edge in a minute or 2. My old knife drove me nuts having to sharpen a couple times in the middle of deboning an Elk a while back. That's when I made the switch. Hopefully draw an Elk or moose this year and try the combo out on a full deboning job.

My first hunting knife was a Gerber with the rubber grip and a gut-hook. Still have it after 25 yrs +/-. I just designed a gut-hook knife in my line-up and I am on #2 right now. Definitely going to put that Gerber Vital in my Amazon Wish List before this falls hunt.

I really have taken a liking to the outdoor edge series!! Don't like my blade flimsy like a havy or Or that knife!! Light enough and also has a gut hook on the other side!! I understand sponsorships, but if u haven't tried it, you should!!!

Randy , love the look of the Gerber Vital Big Game knife. You made it look easy. Matter of fact I have a $1000 waterless cookware set because a guy made it look easy. 35 years later I still have it. :) Where can I buy a serrated blade? All I have found is the drop point and the blunt point replacement blades. I also saw a new Randy knife on Midwayusa that looked great and had a serrated blade. Thanks in advance for your guidance

I don't use any scent covers/blocks. My hunting is too active and there is no way it can control my scent. The wind is your best ally in scent control. Thanks for watching. Appreciate your support of our platforms.

Have you ever tried any buck knives? My hunting knives are the buck 113, buck 110, buck 119, and the buck 112. I also use a bear and son skinner. Western L66. Case folding hunter. And a schrade uncle Henry golden spike

I have. They did not keep an edge as well as I had hoped. I have become a fan of the replaceable blade knives like the Gerber Vital. For a fixed blade, the super hard steel on the Gator Premium stays sharp over the course of many different animals.

I bought a Gerber vital and it won’t hold the blade in place. Something isn’t right with the locking mechanism I guess.... Have you had any issues like that?
