I really like your reviews. I think your a great guy to be on Here talking about firearms. Honest genuine guy that is knowledgeable and puts effort in each review. I'm big on the semi-autos that we get in Canada so I always get excited when you do one. Also, for people that aren't necessarily in the firearms community, I think your a great personality to represent us.

I've had mine for a year, over a thousand rounds. It had feeding issues but after sending it to BCL it's been great ever since.

Mine has been perfect had one screw come loose on the top of the handgard..locktight and done that's all I've had to do

I am glad I just bit the bullet and bought a bren 2. It’s kinda a shame atr didn’t build a 180clone. If they had done one at least you would know it would work.

Well maybe BCL’s QC isn’t great. Sorry to hear that you’re having issues. I’ve got around 1500 issue free rounds through mine.

I bought one around 3-4months ago At first i was so disappointed! I litterly hated evrything about it and regretted buying it! Brought it 3-4x to the range and i was just having alot of problems with it constantly! Id shot 20-30 rounds and just change rifles! Then about a month ago someone told me they where having issues also and eventually they all stopped! So i bought 1000 rounds and gave it a full range day! Around half way through the day it was cycling perfectly! No more jams! Nothing! Brought it home installed a carbon fiber bipod and a 6-24x50mm riton scope. And now it’s in my top 5 firearms i own! I would count on it with my life and i know it would shoot! Im very consistent at long ranges! Not one jam or failure in over 2000 rounds!! It’s just so fun simple and easy setup i can sit there for hours shooting without getting bored! Give it a chance it’s worth evry dollar once it’s heavily broken into! Would i use it to run around with or for home defence hell no! I set mine up specifically to accuracy and to have fun with! Won’t be winning any competition’s for damn sure! I have multiple serious rifles that id use for different situations! But if you’re looking to have fun its a great gun!

I hope you're right I'm at about 350 to 400 rounds and it's been garbage so far, I've had at least 30 to 40 failure to feed and a couple other issues

Mine has worked flawless for me so far. It only had one jam for the first 600 rounds and I've only cleaned the bcg once. Hope mine won't become unrelaible like what I have read on the internet

Amen on that... i think ive put 6-800 thru mine with no issues... seems to shoot to aprox 1.25 moa... i do clean it religiously... when i first got her i did a full tear down and clean (getting the gas block off was the only pain).. its too bad there have been quality issues.. i think the think on that is that they want to get them into peoples hands , so the government can't or will have a harder time in taking em from us... and then when there are issues they will take care of it....

Sold it long ago but they don't do well with high round counts either. I've meant to do an update video comparing the alternatives on the market, instead we'll just cover it on Slam Fire Radio next week.

It's too bad your experience had some issues. Im 500ish round into my siberian so far without a single hiccup. Soon as i got it home I tore it apart degreased all the component in the trigger, bolt and any where something could move. There was a thin layer of preservative grease everywhere which I read some stories of it mixing with out and gumming it up. I greased every moving part with g96 grease which is use for my garand l, xcr-l, rdb and gsg 16,they all run best with grease instead of oil.the gsg was a jam-o-matic until i abandoned oil for grease. I know a few other people with siberians who have been great so far. If you still have rifle id be curious if lubing it with a thicker grease would help reliability.

You shouldn't see a difference between grease and oil for the stress that the parts on this gun see. It was well oiled and the action was nice and slick by the time I ran it at that rifle match.

@@Huntinggearguy sorry i didnt see your reply, thats fair but I've had several firearms where they should have been fine with oiling but werent hence my comment. My old mossberg 352ka and kb, my tangfoglio appeals in 22 and 22mag all ran unreliably and, they fed and extracted poorly and were all fixed by switching to grease. With oil they all felt slick and smooth until put under a load then theyd bind up.

@@dsmtsi depends on the firearm. I usually put a dab on moving components like springs and guide rods and manually run them until they have a thin film, ill wipe of excess lumps or ad more as needed, i repeat the same for cam pin grooves or surfaces the bolt carrier rides on. Usually a thing film is good and ill get a little bit that accumalates in the receiver after firing. For my garand i cake it pretty thick under the guider rod and along the recoil spring, and smear the bolt and its rails i used a dab a bit bigger than a pea for my siberian Even with a heavy coat you will use less than you expect, i have a fairly big collection and being rural shoot almost daily in the summer, i maintain stuff regularily and will usually only need a couple syringes of the g96 to do everything for the year. I dont grease my bolt guns they are fine with oil except for a couple really worn out cooeys.

1000 round tests are a meltdown, you can find czs or iwis that would fail that also.

@@Huntinggearguy I am a total noob. So far just at the range to practice but will be for home defence and hunting as well as collecting. Just getting into the hobby. So far I have the IWI Tavor 7 and GSG 16 for a little plinker. But wanted something nice and robust and sexy. I like the look of the Kodiak. Can you recommend anything? Thanks for helping a noob to the hobby!

You could use your off hand to pull the charging handle. Feels like 1600 is alot for what you get and quality control seems to be hit and miss. I think I'm just going to stick with a Lockhart Tac build or an R18 Sterling.

it's front heavy, charge it with off hand hurts especially with factory trigger guard

I really like your review. Can you use Is black powder firearms? In america some people hunt with them including me. What about Cap'n ball revolvers? In america, in most states. Can you do that in canada yesterday?

No handgun hunting here, but we can use black powder. I used a muzzleloader last year, will do again this year.

I found a muzzle loader with a twenty three inch barrel. I am disabled and the shorter barrel Is it easier for me to handle. Do you think it will be as accurate as a 29 inch barrel when hunting?

I think the crusader arms Templar or crux arms temp(renamed)rifle gen 1 and new gen 2 chambered in 5.56 is a more robust and better quality rifle then this. It’s more bulky yes but better beefed up internals for sure. For a bit more you can get a trigger tech trigger installed from the factory. I think it’s the best non restricted rifle on the market that uses AR mags. That’s just my 2 cents

@@linuscartips9732 I agree but I can’t justify spending that much on a rifle when majority of the videos you see the tavor barely shoot moa at 100 yards. When you have a sw mp sport 2 rifle that cost 2grand less shoot sub moa groups with different types of ammo in a non free floated barrel then it’s not even a hard choice. They can barely get the tavor to shoot a inch group with match grade ammo. Not just smith there are many budget ARs that shoot sub moa and are reliable . Even though we can’t shoot ARs anymore just the thought of proven platforms like the AR that cost way less pushes me away from the tavor . Iraqveteran8888 did a melt down on the smith rifle firing fully auto until it fails. It failed 13 rounds less then a rifle that cost thousands more and failed at the gas tube where it was designed to fail. If I’m going to spend 3grand plus on a tavor it better shoot sub moa with off the shelf rounds. That’s just my 2 cents. But yes it is very reliable with the piston.

Those pins that you were talking about that tend to fall out on the BCG for the firing pin are called cotter pins. Absolutely should try to spread them as much as you can anytime your installing them regardless of what system it's on. And then you just use Pliers to flatten them when you want to pull them

I always refer to the fully split ones as cotter pins, but these solid ones with split tips are a bit different.

@@haterhayder I was looking at using AR15 components to make a 6.5 Gren build myself. They seem to use AR15 parts, bolt included, with their own DI bolt carrier design. Hopefully all in all it's reliable. I hope reviews come out soon.

As usual, your review is honest with good explanations and in good taste. Too bad you had to test a dud that was already abused. How much oil and dirt is jammed in that thing!! The last video I saw they had SO much oil and dirt in the chamber no wonder it wouldn't go completely into battery a bunch of times. I'm assuming its that same rifle. MIne has been fine so far, (maybe because its newer, all black model) but I'm also only just over 600 rounds of reloads that it likes. The one I have now likes bulk Hornady 55gr w/ 24.5g H335, 2.23 COAL and campro primers cycles good and shoots about 1,1/4" @ 100 out of the Magpul Gen3 mag that it came with and a few I had, that's off bags with a 1-4 LPVO Nikon I had on one of my AR15s. I'm sure it would do WAY better with a trigger that didn't feel like you were dragging a 2x4 down a country road and a real scope off 1x of my PRS rifles that I could actually make a precision shot with when I ladder loaded the ammo.

If youre still looking, the FAMAE SG-543-1m is a very good option for reliability. It's a modernization of the SIG 540 and in use by several militaries. It's got an AK style bolt/receivier so you know it will last. Not cheap though.... 3600 CAD

Saw one at my local gun shop today, asked to handle it... it wasn't great. - Much heavier than it should, - Upper and lower rattled together, - Controls were super stiff, - Metal edges were crude and uncomfortable, Great to have Canadian-made rifles. But at least they should spend more time and money towards quality control. For the price, this is a disappointing rifle. Save your money and buy a well built, well designed rifle.

No spring on the gas system? That thing must rattle like crazy! What a poor design, especially since the "AR-18" gas system design and it's offspring are readily observable. Nice review.

Eh, some of the pistons on the 180's have used a squared edge to hold the spring and that ends up being a failure point for the piston. At this point, I'd be happy if the design stops them from breaking.

My hope longer term is eventually with enough of these companies making modern sporting rifles that one will figure it out and get great. Meanwhile it's hard to be mad at them for releasing stuff like this, not like they have a billion $ in dev money. Still hurts though.

Please get a Crusader Arms Templar. I'm honestly tired of watching videos on KZfaq with crappy guns. It's getting old. Oh and decent for the money? I wont soend $2000 on a gun that wont run. 😊

I know they're not perfect, but Canadians really need to buy Canadian made guns. My WS-MCR has been mostly good and I value its role in keeping our freedom. Because, it is a whole lot easier for Trudeau to stop guns from being imported than to shut down a Canadian factory and fire its workers.

It's a double edged sword. On one hand, the more money they make, the more can be invested into better products. On the other hand, it's alot of money to ask for products that have some serious flaws.

I had 2 in the video. Close in review in my gun room was the Nikon P-series. At the range shooting 3 gun was the Cabela's Covenant 1-8 scope with included mount.
