Well, it appears hurricane 🌀 Beryl sure made history this hurricane season (let alone a category 5 hurricane). Now hopefully there won't updates of any fatalities that would transpire, is what I am hoping and praying I would not hear. I have not heard of any fatalities occurring in the Grenadines or anywhere else, and hopefully it will remain that way.

Dani'i' persons living along the southern and eastern coast of Jamaica in low-lying areas are likely to face devastating waves long before the weather reaches your area. Back in 1998 there was a hurricane in the Western Caribbean near central America (Hurricane Mitch, I believe) that briefly started moving west to east - the opposite direction to what is typical - and the waves it produced... All along the west coast of Grenada, low-lying areas were devastated by massive waves 6ft+ that damaged or destroyed buildings and roads. The hurricane was hundreds of miles away to the west of us, was not heading for us and did not impact our weather in any way shape or form! The waves were a complete surprise.
