@@joycebryan2584 Sweetie; The Entire Commonwealth is worried!🌏💜 (Don't use such Amcn silly words - "diaspora!") We are all one in the Commonwealth💜💜 As far as I have heard nobody has been k▪︎lled💜💜 My various friends phones are still off & their WiFi too (I got messages Wednesday morning) Anybody managed to speak to their Jamaican Friends or Relatives💜💜 ? (Am very worried still) Many ppl have boats that are their Livelihood - but they are saying on the News "a glancing blow not a direct hit!" So that's good💜💜 (One of my Friends & her Family live on the far side of the island & there's no power back up there - so it might be a day or two before things can get back to normal💜💜) God Bless Everybody🌸💜 & keep them/ us/everybody safe🙏🏻💜🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿💜 🇮🇪💜🇬🇧💜

Tourists instead of leaving the island maybe stay the time and help recover. Every little bit helps.

Only I had messages Wednesday morning💜💜but nothing since (& most of my friends live away from Hotel Generators etc💜💜) The News says "A glancing blow" Not a direct hit!" We are lucky we are lucky. It wasn’t worse than what it was predicted. We cannot take a devastation in Jamaica right now. The Lord was watching over us for all the islands that have devastation, especially poor poor people who will not get any help from the government.

Beryl passed Grand Cayman at 5:30am this Thursday morning, about 60 miles south of us, as a Cat 3. We did not lose power or water not much damage thankfully. The sea on Seven Mile Beach looked like glass. It was so smooth, but no, she passed us at 10:30am. The waves were starting to build, and a bit of rain. Thinking of the others who were deeply affected. AND we locals pronounce it Caymaaaan, not CayMens...

Majority of Jamaica has no idea what Beryl did to parts of the island. The people of Manchester who experienced the full force of Gilbert will tell you that this is worse than Gilbert. He who feels it knows it. I understand that based on your location you may have been spared, but people in the South are still trying to wrap their heads around the hours of horror yesterday which made Gilbert seem like a joke. No roof, no road, no light , no internet so the story can't get out.

I live in South Clarendon. I was a child when Gilbert came and a adult in Ivan. So I have experience in both major hurricanes. I'm without electricity from yesterday morning and water. I spent the entire day clearing up trees that had fallen from yesterday. It's rough.

@BeastSpedUP fi real. Some people jus love chat. Jamaicans will find use for the blown down trees and those zinc will be put back to good use. This is where Jamaicans will come together to rebuild. That's just how we are. All who you don't know will come to give a helping hand if you need it but a closed mouth cannot ask for help.
