That's how an interview should be conducted. most of the times anchors are so preoccupied with them themselves that they don't allow the interviewee to speak

@ Teddy Bear, Hussain Haqqani is the reason why Pakistanis still get some respect outside Pakisan. One should ponder over why he had to leave the country under duress. If you think chinese come cheap then you gotta be kidding. Chinese loans come at 7-8% interest compared to 2-3% IMF loans. Since Pakistan is perenially dependent on loans for survival, this is a big difference over a long time. As far as defense equipment are concerned, everything there is reverse engineered but they are good at it. They dump it on Pakistan to see if it works. If it does not, Pak takes the consequences. Case in point: the nuclear reactor in Karachi that Chinese installed. There was no debate or discussion. As per Hoodbhoy, a nuclear scientist, the reactor is untested. If it blows up, like the Japanese one did, tough luck for Pakistan but china would not be affected.

I wish all of the Pakistani journalists see the issues with the very open mind coming out of the schooling indoctrination, they can be extremely helpful in building bridge between India and Pakistan.

It's a pity that this sensible and level headed former diplomat and noted author can not live in his country and is forced into exile in US. Evidently, It is sad that there is no room for dissent and dissenters in Pakistan. No wonder, Pakistan is perennially on verge of collapse.

The last questions answer holds the key to resolving india pak conflict. Pakistan is ruled by army/isi which has been groomed and backed by British (nato) since partition. This is purely to maintain balance of power in south asia. India should talk to Army/ISI and work with them to remove their insecurity which is ingrained in them due to the past and the nato. Things can move dramatically fast. Pakistan Army/ISI has been played since it's inception. India needs to talk to them and remove their insecurity. Things can move dramatically fast towards resolution. India has to learn to stop expecting pakistan to be a democracy and have civilian govt. That's Pakistans internal evolution. It may never happen. India must go to the root of the problem.

Amit Misra Mr. Misra, do you regard the Pakistani ISI and military as "humane groups" that we should talk to them. Are you suggesting that we should talk with those, who do not regard us as human beings. *The Pakistani Army according to me is the world's most dangerous Islamist terrorist organization in the world.* It has killed millions of Bengalis in East Bengal, it has killed lakhs in Kashmir and millions in Afghanistan through proxy war. It has killed 50000 Balochis in Baluchistan and over 30000 Pathans in FATA. It has jailed and assassinated several Sindhi activists who protested against Urdu imperialism in Sindh. The army has murdered democracy numerous times in Pakistan. Moreover it was instrumental in decimating and expelling over 450000 Kashmiri Hindus in Kashmir. It had an indirect hand in expelling over 8 million Hindus from East Bengal. WE SHOULD THINK OF ANNIHILATING THE PAKISTANI ARMY INSTEAD OF TALKING TO THEM.

You are absolutely right. How they hacked and killed Kashmiri pandits in Kashmir is a halocast in itself never reported by Nehru Gandhi family and congress.

Keshav Kalsi Let me you something bro.. You know France and Germany have more wars than India and Pakistan over the centuries and yet the only thing they fight now is who want to sell more cheese(analogy) to the other.. Even though there have been many atrocities committed by Pakistan, all we can do is sit and talk.. Even eventually may them apologize or pay for their sins
