"the world needs Pakistan to stay together". No, it does not. History of nations show that no nation is so important as not to be expendable.

"British had taken the subcontinent from Muslim rule" - Wrong statement. Maratha hindu kings already defeated muslims. It was the Marathas with whom British had to fight.

"Pakistan as it is, is important for the world" Really! How? Pakistan is a nuisance and should be divided into different parts that can be managed from outside.

A strong, united, democratic and secular Pakistan, free of religious extremism is in the interest of neighboring countries and the whole world. I hope someday that will time arrive. India and Pakistan will become good neighbors if not good friends.

+steelnerve . I hope you will look in a dictionary meanings of the word 'churlish' before using it. Anyway, why do you think a fragmented Pakistan will be peaceful and in more interest of India? It might open more fronts to fight with. A peaceful friendly Pakistan will open doors for importing Iranian gas, trade not only with Pakistan but with other neighboring countries as well. India has great potential for export and it will be even greater if India has good friendly relations with Pakistan.

He has conveniently saved the face of west pakistans atrocities against east pakistan ultimately wich triggered need to go separate from west pakistan . The audience seem to be ignorant of post 1971 situation . It is very sad to conceal..

Is their any clue that Pakistan is undergoing the process of transformation. I don't see it. What I find now is rather worse. Mr Sartaj Ajij dismantled the talk with India on 23/08/15 under pressure from their Army and then immediately started flaunting nuclear arms. This does not show a good future about Pakistan which is not good for India either. because if it breaks, India will be flooded with refugees and Indians as I know will never turn them down. That will have terrible effect on Indian economy. India wants a vibrant Pakistan economically strong and stable.

Pakistan did not inherit 25% of the population of undivided India. Hindus in newly formed Pakistan near immediately left West Pakistan and gradually in East Pakistan (or were forcefully converted). While Muslim population transfer from India to Pakistan Mohajirs from UP, few nobilities from Deccan and Bombay, and negligibly small from Bengal.

Problem with such people as Haqqani is they are still swimming in the state of slavery that was imposed through colonial days of India. The fact is they are worshiping and hence running towards the Gods ( the West) the same way as Muslims have worshiped and Look towards Allah for making their life better . An ideal way to remain in a slave status. Democracy is never an answer for Pakistan because 80% of the population lives hand to mouth not knowing where the next meal is coming from. At this level of existence any one who flashes a few Rupee notes will win their vote. Democracy only works when a population is well fed and educated. So it is a farce to expect Democracy to change the status quo of slavery to independence. The first and foremost act should be to share the hoarded wealth in the hands of very few, and invest it in shape of Industry and education with profits from products of the industry being used to create more Universities and Industry. Mr. Haqqani's ideas are tainted with the European capitalistic thinking ... which really is very destructive for countries such as Pakistan. Mr. Haqqani is not independent enough to speak for the 80% poor population of Pakistan.
