Good for you wearing those pants! 20+ years of bucking, never had a incident... I bought some saw pants, and a few weeks after, a freak situation caused the cutting edge to come across my knee. Damn glad I bought those pants!! Worth every penny!

"Get some food". I did a similar thing at 7/11. Pulled up, saw a guy I recognised from the area, homeless dude sitting outside the store. He didn't ask for anything but I wanted to help, lend a hand, be thoughtful. When at the counter I see they had a special on chicken tenders, potato wedges etc. I paid for a couple things & when I got outside I told him to go see the cashier & tell her what you want from the specials, it's paid for. He looked at me like it was a joke or I was harassing him perhaps. I assured him & got in my vehicle as he walked in the store. Saw him talk to the cashier then look around at me in my vehicle, still with a confuzzled look on his face. That look was priceless!

I have the Jonsered equivalent 2260 and as you said it is a great limbing saw. I've used it on my logging job to limb and buck, also trim truck's. Most of the time it rides in my log truck to trim anything unexpected that any mill might complain about. Twenty inch bar and it does the job, small and light.

Love the channel, subscriber for over a year. I love running saws and cutting wood. I definitely agree, I don't like the design of the handle either. Just an educated guess that they made it like that for ambidextrous or left handed people so they have a handle grip. Take care Buckin'.

I grew up running saws with my grandpa. At one time we had enough wood cut and split to last 30 winters keeping a MN farmhouse 85 degrees all winter long. Safety gear included steel toe boots ... that's about it. You learned how to "be rugged" as grandpa used to say .... by 13 years old you knew how to squint just right so the saw chips stayed out of your eyes lol. I'm 40 now ... still have all my eyes, fingers, toes, arms, and legs. All the safety gear in the world doesn't make up for common sense and planning ahead. I do recommend a pair of safety glasses these days ... and spend the time to keep them clean when working. Regardless, the best safety gear you can own is in your skull between your ears. If you have a 4' diameter oak tree come down on you, that fancy hardhat and face shield is only going to be used to contain the mess so the authorities knew it was you. Plan ahead and think!

Hi Billy!!😀😀 I was surprised that you didn't just a loop of. 63 gauge Stihl .325 chain. I've been running it for years on my MS 460's and all I can get from Stihl is. 63 gauge chain. I just love how smooth and fast it cuts on a 70 plus cc saw. Unless it's over 80 degrees Fahrenheit, I always wear my chaps. That way your pants don't wear out because they will outlast 40 pairs of jeans or more. I have never cut them but there is always that slim chance it could happen. I would much rather cut my chaps than have to go to the hospital and be laid up for a while from a bad cut. Take care my friend!!😀😀 Logger Al

Buckin, every time I've tried bringing an over-wide bar down to run a chain with a narrower gauge, I've found that the chain still wobbles unacceptably. The reason, I think is, that the only part of bar you change is the lip or top of the groove. The bottom is still milled to the wider measurement. If you were to cut the bar you would see an A shaped slot. This lets the bottom of drive links slop side to side. Yes, it's nit-picky, but it's true. This is all just my opinion. Best wishes!!! PS.... Ive also found that the slot after its re-formed, tends to collect more crud as the edge is narrower than the bottom of the groove and doesn't self clean as well. Keep an eye on yours and see if you notice that. I do close the rails on my bars as regular maintenance, but I try to stay away from modifying gauge widths. Thanks so much for your videos. I truly enjoy them!!!!

Oh, I have a pair of chainsaw chaps and wear them. I don't have any long bar saws, mine are 20" or shorter. Here in the northeast it seems unless your a pro most bars are 20" or shorter . This means more kneeling in the dirt and mud, also i use them for weedwacking. It really saves the wear and tear on your real pants. I also always wear the hat, and muffs, and shield. I have the worst luck and would always have chips in my face.

@@Piledriver2235did you get 562 or 572 and how do you like it? Was it able to handle the 28"

@simd510 actually I went with an Echo 7310p. Nothing else was really in stock post pandemic. I've been thrilled with it, balances perfect with a 28" sugihara and pulls full house 3/8 in hardwood without a care. It may be a hair slower on a big log, but it's super reliable, no electronics I can't tune, built solid (metal not plastic) and starts on second pull every time. Current pricing I'm not up on, but at the time it was 25 percent less money than a 572 or stihl 462. Now I may make a different choice based on price 572/462, but wouldn't trade the Echo for a 562 unless it was to run a shorter bar.
