The Chukchi tribe that bred them left them to hunt and care for themselves part of the year, so they would independently roam around the tribe and only return due to their bond with humans. And when a sled dog team ended up in a snowstorm, stubborn dogs were more likely to survive, because the dogs were more likely to know the way home and if they could insist on their own way over perhaps the opinion of a disoriented human, all of them would live.

I had a friend with a German shepherd and a pitbull, now they were fascinating and complex. They even once devised a successful plan; the shepherd kept me distracted and focused on her, made me back up with the pizza box held high over head while the pittie snuck up behind me, crouched and tripped me as I backed over him. It's an old school trick but the buggers grabbed a slice each and ran away while I was still on my arse trying to figure out what just happened.

When our sweet Ravin Lab German Shepherd Collie mix of 21years, my comforter who knew when I was sad furbabie got so bad she couldn't walk, we knew it was time. I thought I would never have to do this but I did and I never want to go through that again. The vet said pay extra attention to Ladybug our Lab Collie Chow my never left my side furbabie of 18 years, because they spent 18 years together she will grieve. That was not a problem she's my other heart. At 6:42 pm we brought our furbaby home and with her collar, a long letter about her life and her bowl we said our goodbyes. At 5:32 am we heard the worst sound come out of our Ladybug that was blood-curdling. She was sitting at our front door she's never done that. My husband brought her in our room and thought she was starting to grieve. I held her close to me and cried myself to sleep. My husband woke me up at 5:58 am. He said my name and the look on his face I knew my lady was taking her last breath. Less than 12 hours I went from a house of 2 black amazing mixed labs that I rescued as puppies that came into our lives at different times to silence and only 2 furbaby cats left. The worst night of our lives. We lost 2 of our children that we both took care of loved, slept in our beds for 18 and 21 years. The vet said she died from a broken heart. It's not uncommon with fur babies that have been together that long. It's been 10 years and I still think they will be at the door waiting when we come home. HUGGS FOR YOU AND YOUR LOSS

Lol they just got very offended if they have to do something they dislike. For the flea stuff I recommend coconut oil just spread it slightly on her hair and ears it works perfectly against parasites and isn't poisonous like the usual stuff.

@@Milesco Omg! For their own good??!! It's toxic poison! Stop being brainwashed and wake up! I once worked for a dog groomer. One day we ran out of the toxic poison flea shampoo. The owner gave me $20 out of the till and sent me to the store to buy lemon Joy dishwashing liquid. I asked her why. She said we would have to use it on the dogs in place of the flea shampoo. It'll suffocate the fleas and kill them. Ever since then I stopped using poison on my animals. I use baby shampoo to kill fleas. Any thick lather will work but baby shampoo is mild so it won't harm their skin. Lather it up real thick and use a lot of it to achieve this then leave it on for at least 2 minutes before you rinse it off. All the fleas will die. You're just shortening their life with all the toxins and poisons!! Please stop!

Cats do not like being bathed so Revolution drop when fleas or worm parasites strike is another method, tho still somewhat toxic. Grocery & marketplace flea products are not only toxic but often totally worthless
