A customer brought in a Husqvarna 435 chainsaw complaing that it was very low on power. I'll show you what I discovered during a test run and how to diagnose a large air leak. #smallenginerepair

Thats rough. Seems like most of the saws I’ve been into, you can sneak that boot off without pulling the cylinder. Then again, perhaps good time to do the crank seals. I’ve not been into the 435 far, just some basic stuff. Great diagnosis.

Great video Scott. Gotta say, I have a 357XP and a 460 Rancher, definitely a difference from a pro saw to consumer clam shell saw in the construction side of them. Thinking about an Echo 620P but but then Chris from In the WoodYard showed off his new 562XP Mark 2… my biggest issue is dealer support here in Michigan. What are your thoughts? They both look to be great saws.
@TheGreasyShopRag
@TheGreasyShopRag 2 ай бұрын
They are both great saws. The echo has a good track record. The husky is strong but a new model. The echo comes with a 5 year warranty, the husky 2 years. The echo has a standard carb and the husky requires dealer support if you have an autotune issue. The husky might have better ergonomics. Because you have other saws it may not matter which one you pick.

Hey Scott, another fantastic video brother. Did you recently say that Husqvarna had upgraded their fuel filters. What is the part number of the fuel filter you used and is this filter common for other saws as well. Thank you for your time sir.

Seems like a lot of work for that intake boot. Is a re-seal and put together with a new boot economically feasible for the customer?
@TheGreasyShopRag
@TheGreasyShopRag 2 ай бұрын
I think there are three types of customers. The first wants their saw fixed. They don't just throw stuff away and may spend $300 to fix a saw they could buy new for $400. The next wants a running saw for as cheap as possible. Finally there are the ones that are looking for an excuse to buy a shiny new toy. The saw in this video was owned by the first type.

Rewatching and I noticed how you talked about fuel filter. I had one in particular that the saw starved for gas. Filter looked perfect. Checked and found only breathing through top a little. How do you verify it is good / bad. Thanks.
