I get the idea that this fellow is a professional and has done this sort of thing a number of times. His selection of first cuts is to be admired, as he creates safe cuts by first relieving tension that would otherwise bind and catch the bar. I run several 372xp and 572xp saws and am always impressed with their performance with a sharp chain.

Good stuff for sure. The age old saying of smooth is fast and fast is smooth is really well illustrated here. Smooth measured cuts make its look fast but he is just moving at a nice safe pace! Love his work.

Thank you very much for the great video. It took a couple of years and many times watching this video to realize the reason for the bar size and chain to the size of the saw its self. Bigger power to smaller bar and chain will able you to muscle through those points of tension and compression plus the fact that your Skill Level is bar none. The way you look at everything the way it's laying and then surgically pick it apart in a very controlled manner is beyond impressive.

@@dqmc07 this actually one of the things I'm going to try out. I have a second home in middle of the old forrest where with every storm some of the trees fall. 3 of them are dangerously close to the house and exactly where I was thinking of it

Dangerous. Never work on root plates suspending another stem, or behind root plates on other trees, ready to drop, as this guy just did. Is he still alive?

I’m from the west coast in the US. we r taught to fall trees way different. His method is actually considered dangerous here. The way he cuts all the holding wood off

I've owned a 575xp for about 10 years. Weighs 17 lbs. Without The bar and chain. You forget About that pretty quickly when Cutting. These pro grade saws Are relentless. I cut mostly Soft maple oak and beech. Got sick and tired of working My ass off with a 50 cc saw. Mine is 75cc makes 5.5 HP At 9,600 rpm. Runs on 50:1 Gas oil. If you cut lots of Medium or large logs get A real saw. You won't regret It.

here in the western US my typical bar length is 28 inches, I keep that on my saw unless I know I'm getting into very very large wood. I've noticed that you euro cutters all seem to use very short bars, even when more length would make your life easier. why is this? Very nice work by the way, that saw rips.

Because its more efficient and practical in our forests. We dont need long bars because we have thick undergrow and its very easy to injure yourself because of bar can catch those branches. Also we mostly have trees about 30-50cm thick. Very rare 60cm or more. And to cut off all the branches from log its easer to work with 13-15 inch bar (yes, bars we are measuring in inches). Also our regulations of CO2 emissions, we use less powerfull chainsaws so also shorter bars. Bet it was always like this. I started to work in forestry in 1996 for a couple years, and now in 2019 as I know we still use short bars. In our forests its more practical.

Why not cut down the highest one first so that one, you have something to stand on, and 2 if things go south that tree blocks the other tree??

The highest will hold the rootball and as you have seen it settled down a little so the higher stem could be reached easyer. No?
