Spout sticking open seems to be a common problem with these cans. I have managed to fix mine.

Sir, you deserve free equipment from Husqvarna! :) Thank you!

Thank you , it works . I’ve only used sand paper though, not file. Best advice to all : don’t leave the spout on the can all the time .Especially during the hot summer. Petrol Fumes creates pressure which deforms the spout. Take it off for the night.

Thank goodness people like yourself spend the time to make this very informative video. It's save me £25 for a replacement which is half the cost of the original can! I would bet on the ethanol fuel being the cause.

Thank you, they sell this can on American Amazon but don’t tell you it ships from the uk. My spout went bad and I quickly found out nobody would ship me a replacement spout. Finding out how to take the little bugger apart was just what I needed

Hi, glad it helped you. It,s disgraceful that they have not recalled these useless spouts. Jon

@@isaiahdavidson7728 I agree, nice bit of kit when it's working. Same goes for my Huskie saw, lovely thing on the rare occasions that it starts! I would be interested to know if your spout has the same fault as mine. Regards, Jon

@@wotjonsez2560 mine had the exact same issue. I had even swapped the oil spout onto the gas side and it started doing the same thing within a handful of uses.

Could you slip a feeler gauge down to knock the tab in so haven't got to take any off the end

The husqvarna multi fuel can always has this problem with the fuel nozzle, I use a sthil one now and it's been operational for sometime without any problems. You can get unbranded ones as well. It's like all things half the time your buying a brand name, quality suffers a lot when the production is farmed out to the lowest bidder.

Thanks for the advice. I gave the spout a wash in hot soapy water to clean it up and freed it up.I don't know yet if it's a permanent fix. I'll keep your advice at hand though. Thanks from Rob. Australia.👍

Hello, A year or so later and mine is sticking again so it must still be swelling up. Plastic incompatable with petrol. Good luck, Jon

Thanks Jon. Had this problem for a while now and various lubrications didn’t really fix it. I followed your video to the letter and it’s now working perfectly. (I did put a little silicone grease on the tight area for good measure). Fills up my petrol tools with no spillage now !

First thing I have come across for a solution on these. I am in the states so I want to just buy another winter oil spout to use on the gas but that isn't a cheap option as it seems no one here has them. I like the auto shut off option on the gas side so I will give this repair a go for sure.

I have spent countless hours scouring the interwebs looking for a new spout. Found this video and fixed mine in 10 minutes. Time will tell if it is a permanent fix!

I have exactly the same problem you had. It’s a “poor do” from Husqvarna. As you say too expensive for an issue like this.

That was a very good video. Thank you sir. I will start work on the repair tomorrow! Probably i will watch this video a few more times first 😊 it was the first time I’ve seen a thorough dissection of an issue. Well done to you. And I’ve subscribed to your Chanel 👍🏼

Well done Jon. Did you try to get a replacement under warranty?
@wotjonsez25603 ай бұрын
No I did not. Can't remember but it was probably past it's twelve months when the problem became apparent. Regardless, the British Sale of goods act does require that sold goods should be fit for purpose for six years, I have had some successes arguing this point over the years but in reality it isn't worth the time it takes with a small item of limited value. I have personally come across quite a lot of these cans with the same problem over the past couple of years. Regards, Jon

I wonder if the cause of this is actually pressure build up maybe the vent pressure needs lowering ? About to attempt this repair . Thanks from the states this can was not worth becoming a criminal for 😂

Great video , my problem is the large rubber washer inside the bottom of the spout where you screw it to the can has started to disintegrate and drop little bits of rubber into the fuel !!! 🤬 And guess what, , , they don't do a replacement anywhere 🤯 I can't believe i fell for the fancy fuel can trick 🤦♂️
