This is a Husqvarna riding mower model YTH22V46XLS with loud idler pulleys. Lets fix it. After replacing these pulleys your mower will be much quieter when the brake is applied.

Thanks for encouragement. I enjoy the tinkering, been doing it for years, but decided to start filming it because of Darren “mustie1” channel. Hes the best I’ve seen. Hopefully people feel inspired to fix what’s broken and stop throwing stuff away.

On my 2011 Craftsman (same general Husqvarna design) the v-pulley on the idler arm still has good bearings, but its rims had worn down by about a 1/16", so the drive belt would just slip off it. No idea why the rim wore down like that.

Maybe slight friction from the belt rubbing…or loose tolerances when manufactured.

What is the part numbers on the belts

what do the pulley studs thread into? I ran the impact on mine and no matter how long I loosened it just never came off, felt like there is a nut on top that you need to hold or something to stop it from spinning. Anyway, I'll take a better look at it in the light tomorrow (it was pitch black outside while I was working on it earlier). Thanks for the video, very helpful. Cheers!

I would have to look as well. It sounds like it is a bolt based on your description.

@@turningwrenches9524 yes sir turns out that's all it was. I had to set a wrench up on top to stop it from spinning. Thanks again for the helpful video!
