Replacing Deck Spindle and Idler Pulley on a Husqvarna Mower

Жыл бұрынI have here an older model YTH20K46 Husqvarna mower. The bearings in the mower deck are getting old. You can feel the vibration in the deck when mowing the grass.
In this video i show how to replace the spindle or mandrel, and the idle pulley. All pretty straight forward.
I found both parts on Amazon, they installed great.

Freat video man i thought i was gonna have to hire someone to do it but now i can do it myself thanks and i sont have torque rench how tight should i get them maybe snug up against them thanks

Excellent job. Too bad they don't make those so you can maintain them with a grease fitting to make them last longer.

Well, as you can see, it has grease fitting son top of the spindle, and you could fill the spindle housing with grease. That's a lot of grease, and the bearings are sealed bearings/ then you would have to open the inner seals in order to have the grease get there. I personally think that's not worth the trouble. You can also buy new bearings for cheap, and replace them before the housing breaks apart. And even if all is greased up good, if you hit a root or a piece of concrete, the spindle housing is going to crack, and you have to replace it anyway. Then you're better off without the grease.

Have you had, any trouble,with the cracking engine block?

No, because i check the oil every time before i start the engine. The cracking happens when the fuel solenoid leaks, and it fills the engine with fuel. And under the right circumstances that'll crack the engine. Makes sure your fuel shutoff works at all times. You see it when the oil smells like gasoline. Best to put a manual shutoff valve in the line!

Would you recommend using oem parts for jobs like this, or is it okay to use Chinese knock off parts from amazon to save a few dollars?

I use Amazon parts. It's kind of simple bearings we deal with here.
