Awesome video! Many youtubers explain one part of the process, but you've shown top to bottom how to take it apart, put it back together, the post-op tuning process, and why you're doing what you're doing.

I found it much easier to just replace the carburetor for $13 on Amazon comes pre adjusted and more importantly, comes with flat head screws for adjustment instead of the ridiculous EPA mandated recessed screws that require a special Pac-Man wrench. Best advice after two seasons, throw out the carburetor throw out the fuel lines throughout the spark plug and make sure to properly mix the oil exactly according to the recommendations. Don’t forget to grease the trimmer head once in a while.

Helpful. I havethe 126LD that's run flawlessly the 7-8 years I've had it, but I've never replaced the spark plug or fuel filter and this afternoon finally started to give me problems. This will help. 2 things I would've liked to know more about: You say clean the carb "whatever needs to be cleaned". Carbs are more complicated than that implies. I would've liked to see exactly what and how. I also would've liked some commentary as you were tuning it, not after. Also mentioning the tools you used to do it. But all in all very helpful. Thanks!

You are absolutely correct. However they car so complicated that you cannot possibly clean every orifice. Can what looks dirty, clear what holes you can reach and see but after that doesn't work just replace it

You put the plastic fitting on the wrong line. Per Husqvarna, it's meant to be a coupling for the filtered line, and pulled up snug against the inside of the tank.

Thank you for this great video. I still have a question. In a couple of other videos, what is shown is that when the fuel line is inserted into the tank, it is pulled through he tank, and the white connector is inserted into it. Then a segment of the fuel line is attached to the fuel filter. And this segment is in turn inserted into the white connector. Then the fuel line is pulled until the white connector is set in place inside the tank, and the fuel line is finally inserted into the carburetor. This is what I believe I saw in a couple of videos. In your video, I understand that you do not insert any connector in the fuel line. As I see, you insert the fuel line into the tank, you pull it from inside the tank, and then you insert directly this fuel line into the fuel filter. And then you insert the fuel line into into the carburetor. And then, it seems that you insert the white connector to the return line only. So I am afraid that I end up being confused, not by your video, but by the fact that there seems to be two different procedures at work here and there. Could you clarify? Can we indeed entirely bypass the insertion of the white connector in the middle of the fuel line? I hope I was clear enough in my explanations. My apologies in advance if I got something wrong. This is the first time I am doing this repair to my Husqvarna 128L that I have owned and used it for about 7 or 8 years.
@HomeGaragechannel
@HomeGaragechannel 5 жыл бұрын
The white connector is completely optional. You really don't even need one at all. I usually the connector back on the way I find it but sometime I leave it out.
@billhooper1030
@billhooper1030 4 жыл бұрын
I think the connector to the line with the filter is simply to provide a length (reference length for replacement) at which when you pull it back into the tank, it will stop when the connector meets the inside hole of the tank; this way you get a good length so that the filter itself can lay at the bottom of the fuel tank. I'm guessing the other line is just to drain excess fuel back to the tank from the carb?
@Cobretti2014
@Cobretti2014 4 жыл бұрын

thanks I appreciate that. you're going to have to take the plastics off to get to the coil. First try and figure out the air gap between the coil and the magnet on the flywheel. I would use feeler gauges but if you don't have some, try a standard business card. IF the card will easy slide between the magnet and coil, then loosen the bolts holding the coil and let the coil attach to the magnet with the carb between them. then tighten the screws for the coil, remove the card and put the plastics back on and then test for spark.

Do you mean 'fuel line' to be the 'return line'? You begin calling the return line 'the fuel line', as to where to connect the internal connector. Top tube on carb goes to right of the two holes, which is the return. Bottom tube connects to the left which is the fuel line to carb, and it gets a filter, right?. Why does the return line get a connector? Love your trouble starting it!! Been there, seen that bought the tee shirt!

gotcha, depending on how the engine has worn over time, sometimes a new carb might need to be adjusted to work with that engine. Other than that, more than likely the engine is flooded from repeated attempts to start it.

I apologize that I didn't make it clear. The fuel line that has the fuel filter goes to the brass port closer to the trimmer head. The return line that has no fuel filter on it goes to the brass port close to the primer bulb.

@@timhassett7302 turn the idle screw clockwise about 2 full turns. You'll turn it back out later once you get it to idle. Then turn the fuel adjustment screw which is closer to the engine about 1/2 turn counterclockwise. If it idles then turn the idle screw to a speed your comfortable with.

I see, I did not do A very good job or showing or explaining what I did back then. So that plastic piece is a splice/coupling, and it's used on the return line, as a stopper, to keep the line from coming out of the tank. Once I cut the angle piece off, I installed the splice, I then pull the return line out of the tank till it stops. Good question.
