Me. As someone who used to perform music professionally, these vocal artists are absolutely amazing. They are able to maintain a bass drone and variate a melody on top with the same throat, it's absolutely amazing 🤩! Check out traditional Sardinian vocal music 🎶! It's similar, yet different ❤!

I think they play with a igil, which is an eastern cousin of the morin khuur ( 2 strings standing violin). Morin khuur is played near animals to cure them, especially mothers who have a traumatic post-natal behavior and might reject their kids. Morin khuur calm them down so they are not nervous and adopt her kid more easily. I think this music can touch something very animal inside all of us, including animals.

I really wish that this music was more well known and accepted. I've tried to share it with my friends but they think I'm weird, that it sounds weird, or they just don't like it. A couple do enjoy it, but clearly not as much as I do! I'm very grateful to have grown up with music from all over the world. I even had the privilege of seeing Tuva throat singers live when I was a young girl. It changed me and expanded my knowledge on the voice, which I use to this day!

Since I found this video like 5 years ago I still listen to it several times a month. I often close my eyes and imagine the mongols, turks and people from Central Asia hunting with their eagles, riding their horses... I can easily imagine the hordes of the Great Khan resting at night in camps and warriors singing this around the campfires remembering their homes. This music has power, has tradition and legacy.

Quite difficult not to be moved by such a beautiful music! This music comes from the very roots of our human civilization. There's no ego here, no frills, only their own voices with humble and simple instruments. It's all about deep feelings, inner peace and find out how to be compassionate with our body, heart and soul. The very reason to be alive.

I hate that I am just discovering this style (in detail) and this band, now... I am listening to their 1994 albums on Spotify now! The way that they can have the flute-whistle overtone simultaneous with their throat singing is just... magical. THe harmonies of the opening number make me feel warm, dizzy, happy and some of my digits flex-close ... I love this cultural art and music style! Brava!

Am I crazy for wanting to listen to this over and over again? Some of those tunes are uplifting, the others soothes to the soul. So much beauty in simplicity and earthiness, what have I tapped onto? Unless Mongolian, one can't say that they understand the words but the heart... It's like I yearn to be there, I want to visit the mind and the experiences. Well, call me crazy but I'm addicted and I could hear this sort indefinitely! Makes my soul soar to realms other then the common techno/vicious grind which we live in. Best which I can describe this music: a gateway to an enchanting getaway, spirit beautiful and clean :)

I have read a lot about the Mongols and Chinggis Khan and this is the music that I can imagine around their campfires and later in Mongolia, this music belongs with the land snd the people.

@@everdinestenger1548 That would be mongolian throat singing. This is tuvan throat singing. Tuvan is a turkic language and the Republic of Tuva is located in Russia. Though they are descendants of Mongolians, they have interbred with the local population and are now a different people and culture

@@terencendence thank you, I will look it al up and listen but as a westerner without knowledge of the language I will try to hear the difference but in any case, I will do research on the history.

@@everdinestenger1548 I'm an english speaker too and don't understand either languages. I wish I did, for I am a throat singer, and throat singing sounds very strange in english, almost like a scary cartoon character

Some of these sounds that come from Mongolian music make it impossible for me to not get choked up... This is so beautiful in so many ways it is the focus of my music course. Learning about Mongolia along the way I've never been more in love with a country in my life aside from my own...

@Randall Peaslee I wouldn't worry about it Tuva is one of the poorest and smallest countries. It's also the newest country but that's just a random fact.

@@solominded lol been part of Russia only from ww1 thank to politics. Tuva has been their own culture or part of Mongolia for thousands of years. Btw, fyi, Russia itself was built by the Mongol empire from separate settlers into a centered governmental place, and until Petr 1 their kings supposed to have Chingis lineage prime minister equivalency in order to be legit, Tatar (meaning Mongol) bloodline is so strong among Russian elites, and Mongol ethnic groups are still best soldiers among Russian army such as Khalimag, Buryat. Cuz geographically more than half of Russia is nomadic group land originally. This pattern goes to also Chinese empires. All of the empires except the Ming were built by nomadic groups cuz they were more cultured due to their mobile way of life, brave and progressive compared to settlers. We always built free, respectful empires. The lack of respect towards Mongolian investment in world history is blatant cuz of the whites are ignorant, neighbours tryna deny our importance to protect their fake history but on an academic and aristocratic level they know honey. And the cherry on top is, Mongol Empire might be the most famous Mongolian empire but it was the successor of Hunnu, Nirun, Siyambi (Xiyanbi) empires, and our land has been full of culture since the beginning of time. PS: due to lack of western mentality nomad used as barbaric derogatory like it's some sort of hippie, homeless person. But in Mongolian context it means we're just moving few times a year, half nomadic people due to our stocks yet in reality we built cities, cultures, and empires. Kabish!
