@JNOSNOW I get that but they should have designed it smaller in the beginning when first designing it because a LOT of people don't buy that can just because of the heavy chunky flash hider. Me included. What's the point of a decently light can if you have a 5 oz. flash hider.

I was under the illusion that everyone didn't buy it was because it was "loud." I'm sure they would have shaved off an ounce or two if they could have but keymo, asr, and a few others are just as heavy if you put them in a scale. Kind of part of the deal and Ti muzzle devices aren't really a thing.

@JNOSNOW yeah ti muzzle devices are definitely a thing and that's what they need to do.. I own a keymo setup with my Sandman and I hate how heavy it is. That's exactly why I would never buy another can that has a heavy flash hider/muzzle brake on it

@patriotgunner they exist but they're stupid. Vastly shorter life full of spark clouds is as and every manufacturer knows that. Most my cans are titanium and I chase lightweight as much as possible where needed but Hux is an amazing robust mounting system that has the best performance use with their cans. Sacrificial blast baffle muzzle devices are absolutely a key to longevity and performance of the can.

while yes youre right there are better suppressors to make the gun quiet huxwrks whole point is to keep lead levels and gas away from the shooters face thats their goal with making them the way they do

@@thatrashman1372 the huxworx stuff is really for non-ar platforms that don’t have those things imo. ARs also have charging handles and bcgs that vent gas away from the shooters face along with adjustable gas blocks and buffers and springs. Besides a properly tuned AR with a modern baffle stack in the 6-7” range is not bad to shoot. Not at all. They will also suppress better. I shoot suppressed all the time. I get no issues with blow back.

@@czwarlord9243even on piston guns it will radically reduce gas near the shooter. Less wear on bolts and other parts is a pro especially for the 416 and sig piston guns. Flow through cans on long guns are also crazy quiet at the ear.

@@Bigbossman12624 if the gas block/buffer/spring are properly setup there is no extra wear. It cycles dirtier but that’s it. As far as the noise or pop at the shooters ear. Yes but you trade noise at the shooters ear for noise at the muzzle. Not a good trade off. If you use a properly sized low back pressure can it will have a good balance of noise at the ear and muzzle. Flow through cans DO NOT suppress as well as a modern baffled cans. Whatever you think the flow through can will do on a long gun the baffled can will do it better and for much cheaper. I still would run a modern low back pressure baffled can on an AR. Other platforms as mentioned above the flow through is the obvious choice and perhaps the sig variants depending on what we are talking about.

@@czwarlord9243 not true. Wear on the DI bolt is almost unaffected by an adjustable gas block. On .308 guns primers pop when suppressed due to pressure on cheap bolts. Adjustable gas blocks on DI guns suck and never seem to work right. Flow-through cans are the quietest at the ears and second best at the observers ears. I believe in the Pewscience test the only thing that performed better to the observes at the same lengths was surefire. Surefire is also very loud at the ears. This is why Surefire after years of trashing flow through, just came out with their own flow can. Huxwrx owns the patent, real flow through cans are only OSS and Huxwrx. Not to mention the safety aspect. That carbon and gas is vaporized cancer, less of it in your face/gun is better.

There is a comprehensive analysis done by Pewscience, the can performs truly great. The 556k won a huge contract from FBI HRT, which says a lot about the suppression properties of these designs.

@@lucastonoli3256 I have already spoke to the ceo and the engineer who designed it, at SHOT show and again at the NRA meeting. They admitted that it is in limited use by the FBI and it is so they can use certain rifles that require it. Certain German firearms require it in order to warranty their firearm. So they were forced into it. I have shot the flow, the older oss and a r&d can they had on media day at shot. I own a small R&D le and military only shop and hold advanced degrees in engineering. I'm currently going through a law degree and have bid on several DoD and DoJ contracts. I know how a lot of the contracts are "won".

We're definitely not paid shills. Both of us on the channel have been incredibly hesitant around OSS products, and have had a decent amount of exposure to them over the years. Both of the new Flows certainly seem like a much more mature product than anything prior, and sounds better.

@@PhuVet Sure, my dad is the FBI or whatever too. Regardless of your intense cope, it is the biggest suppressor contract to date and the competitors for the contract were other flow-through cans. Plenty of guns benefit from flow-through/low back pressure cans, most automatic firearms I'd argue. The performance is great by any measurable variable, when you come up with a real argument, please do come back at me, otherwise feel free to keep your academic feats to yourself, I really don't care.

@@PhuVet What German firearms? Are they using some new special 416s that every special force use and put whatever suppressor they want on it? I have no Idea what warranty you're talking about. I've seen the FBI guys running the Flow 556k on their 11.5" colt's with the geissele mk4 handguard. If you're talking about the 416s, I'm quiet sure the the flow 556k would perform better on a piston gun than the DI and I doubt the HRT guys are still using the 416s and if they are, they're very happy with the flow 556k as the Surefire was overgassing the 416s is heavier than the flow 556k, and some guys from devgru started to use hydraulic buffers in them to slow down the cyclic rate with the surefire cans.
