instead of wet paper/rag by itself, I usually wrap a bit of aluminum foil around the stuff I want to protect, I stick the wet paper towel under the foil. The foil reflects the heat away from the wet paper towel or rag back towards the joint I'm making....and I can throw the foil away when done, but the rag can be reused (usually). Anyway, I'm not so worried about close burnable or electrical stuff in the vicinity....

The hooks not that expensive, but you gotta have the matching handle for it to work correctly. Just a heads up, people will say it’ll work with a Victor torch, and that’s what I had prior to, and I had all kinds of problems with the oxygen and a settling mixing in the handle.

I'm an automotive mechanic, not an HVAC technician, but I feel like people who complain about using pliers on bolts or even using them to beat on things instead of a hammer just don't know what they're talking about. If you are opening and closing your pliers then you're not going to round a bolt out, and if you did then that bolt was weak to start with. And anything makes a good hammer lol.

Did Rick get up on the wrong side of the bed this morning? I loved your rant though. Have you taken the pliers wrench, and laid it on top of an open end adjustable wrench, (cresent wrench)? I can see an advantage with the pliers wrench. The tighter you grip the handles the tighter it will grip the nut. There is slop in the cresent wrench and that is where you will round the edges of the nut. In all this work the electrical circuit is my weak point. Do you have any suggestions who has a program that starts with a simple circuit and then builds from there? I don't have a problem working with electrical. Thank you for all your videos.

I do too, but that was some thick metal. I tried flattening it without heating it and all it did was make a lot of noise.

Pocket/Socket/Stem/Etc. Easier to say "male/female." They could also make the brazing of filter driers a ton easier if they made the female stub longer than 1/2".

Rick do you have a link for the navtek vac pump battery converter? I am after one for a Milwaukee M18 battery
@HVACRSurvival
@HVACRSurvival Жыл бұрын
I got it on Amazon, this is a Milwaukee to Makita adapter, but you will have to modify it with your Dremel tool. Not real hard, but not perfect, but works.
