Gah! I’m so torn now! As I mentioned on your blog my husband and I initially chose a presidential for the extra room and views from high up. But now seeing this latest review on the swim-up, it’s looking really good. I know the others in my group who are going (3 other couples besides my hubs and me) are probably going to want a swim-up. It would be pretty freaking amazing for all of us to be together in a row. Edit to add: luckily we’re not going until Nov 2023 so we have plenty of time to decide.

We really liked the swim up better!! They were both great though!! Like I said let me know if anyone in the group wants to book with a travel agent, I can get extra perks and *sometimes* group rates if there are enough of you! Either way, you’ll have a great time no matter which room you choose!! I think I’ll be in a swim-up from now on. 😁

Zilara with a similar swim up room OR Ziva with a Turqouize Tower room?? Overall, which Resort did you like better? What are the options for swim up rooms? You mentioned a louder side. What is the difference in the two swim up areas? Is one area more sunny than the other? Can you get servers to bring you drinks from the swim-up pool or do you have to do room service? Any insights would be super helpful!

It really depends on what you want! The Ziva has more restaurants and but can be a bit louder, in general, due to the family-style atmosphere. If that is okay with you, you'll be fine. It's more modern, but I still prefer the Zilara. The Zilara is just more laid-back. There are two pools. The "quiet" side and the activity/party side. There are only two pool parties per week. So, it's not loud all day and all night but if you want to nap during the day, I'd choose the "quiet" side. YES there are lots of drink runners at the pool who will bring stuff to your swim-up! Tip them well and they'll remember you. :)

Do you have to have proof of vaccination to go to Cancun or to return to US? I’m so glad you posted about the swim up room, we are going in October! Really enjoy your posts.

No, this has never been a requirement. You need nothing to go to Cancun (and never have) and you just need a test (everyone has to have one) to return to the US right now!

I know this video was from last year but a few questions. Do you still get a private cabana with this room, I can't find that anywhere online? Also is Michelob Ultra available throughout the facility?

I don't think the room was stunning. Very basic. Outside was the best, although. I think they could have done the jacuzzi a little more private.

Have you seen the updated rooms? They are so nice!! I have videos of a couple of them. Eventually the entire resort will probably look like those. It’s due for some room updates, but I love it anyway!
