We have been in person this whole year except for 3 weeks right before Christmas break. I have the kids put books they have looked at in a big basket and they sit for the required amount of time.

Everything will be okay! My class of 2nd graders (12 students) have back in person since November without shields five days a week 8am-3pm. The students' desks are spread out to about 4-5 feet away facing in one direction. We follow protocols for hand washing and co-horting. The kids play together and eat together socially distanced. We've had TK-1 back since September, 3-6 came back about 4 weeks ago and after spring break 7-8 will be back too. We have on average 15 kids per class. Some students are still on zoom (less than 5 kids for the in person classes). Only 1 student tested positive during Christmas time. Your kids will be so happy to see one another! It’s so crazy to me to see these schools that are just now getting back and going through what we did last August. It was scary at first, but things are going really really well. We don’t use shields, but do mask. No classroom quarantines in our school at all this year so far!

My school district in South Carolina went back to school five day face-to-face in August. It’s interesting watching a classroom set-up here at the end of the school year. No classrooms in our school have had to quarantine and out of my 100 students, only two have tested positive for COVID during that time. My students wear masks all day and also have shields (which are useless and cumbersome.) Just a little insight to how it looks in my 6th grade class. 🙂 Good luck with going to hybrid! Also, your new principal sounds like a dream! 💜

Where I study I come on Wednesday and Monday sometimes Friday so I take hybird classes on Thursday and Tuesday.

I’m a high school teacher in the Uk. We’re back full time, all years. Each year is in a bubble and are tested twice a week. Their seats in their bubble aren’t distanced. They must wear a mask all the time. Why does your school use the shields? Are you not testing? Nice to see what you do

I'm so jealous because I lost the second half of my sophomore year of college and all of my junior year to this stupid pandemic shit and we might go back in August... but that's my last semester so I'm really sad. But THANK GOD sports are still able to happen huh? :( Also, just needed to say that I am thankful for you and I hope you don't feel underappreciated. We need our teachers more than before :)
