Hyderabadi Mirchi ka salan is an authentic recipe made during marriages in Hyderabad along with Biryani . It is made using Chili Peppers cooked along with various other ground ingredients cooked with a dash of Tamarind juice which gives this recipe a Tangy flavour
METHOD
1.First we need to roast and grind few ingredients
In a pan heat oil - 1 tablespoon and add these ingredients and roast them
Dried coconut - 50 gram
Sesame seeds - 50 gram
Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
Coriander leaves - 1 tablespoon
Fenugreek seeds - 1/4 teaspoon
Black Caraway - 1/4 teaspoon
Diced onions - 2 medium sized
Peanuts - 50 gram
Roast these ingredients and grind them along with yogurt - 3 tablespoon
2.Tamarind - one lemon sized
Soak in little water and remove the tamarind pulp and keep it aside
3.Chili peppers - 7
Cut their stalks and make a cut on them too then fry them in little oil for 2 minutes and keep aside
4.In a pan heat oil - 4 tablespoon
To it add Cumin seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
Mustard seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
Curry leaves - few
Ginger garlic paste - 2 teaspoon
Crushed green chilies - 4
Turmeric powder - 1 teaspoon
Salt as per taste
Saute them
5. Now add the ground paste and cook till oil appears on sides this may take 10 minutes
6.Add the fried chili peppers and saute then add the tamarind pulp and mix
7.Add water - 1 cup
Few curry leaves
Few coriander leaves
Salt as required
Mix well and cook under low flame for 15 minutes
8.Hyderabadi Mirchi ka salan is ready
Have it with your favourite Biryani
