THIS VIDEO IS A RECONSTRUCTION OF THE FOLLOWING SITUATION IN FLIGHT:
15-JUN-2024. A Republic Airways Embraer E175LR (E75S), registration N123HQ, performing flight RPA4765 / YX4765 from Raleigh-Durham International Airport, NC (USA) to New York John F. Kennedy International Airport, NY (USA) was on final approach at New York John F. Kennedy Airport when the flight crew initiated a missed approach procedure, reported hydraulic system number 2 low pressure and requested delay vectors. Later the pilots declared an emergency and requested long final for landing. They also reported that after landing they will be unable to vacate the runway and requested a tug to be towed off the runway.

HOW I DO VIDEOS:
1) I monitor media, airspace, looking for any non-standard, emergency and interesting situation.
2) I find communications of ATC unit for the period of time I need.
3) I take only phrases between air traffic controller and selected flight.
4) I find a flight path of selected aircraft.
5) I make an animation (early couple of videos don’t have animation) of flight path and aircraft, where the aircraft goes on his route.
6) When I edit video I put phrases of communications to specific points in video (in tandem with animation).
7) Together with my comments (voice and text) I edit and make a reconstruction of emergency, non-standard and interesting situation in flight.

You do an awesome job on the graphics, but... :) .... I would love it if you could pop a graphic up for things like... go direct to Zachs... and other waypoints they talk about. Where is that in their future flightpath? Completely understand if this is too much.

While I agree, ZACHS is one of the easiest to visualize. Imagine the extended rwy centerline (just a straight line in the rwy direction). MEALS is the point the glideslope starts (which is why ATC mentions it in the clearance) at 1800ft, 5nm from the airport, and ZACHS is 11.7nm from the airport (the initial fix for the ILS). In the situations we listen to, directs are mostly either to an approach fix like ZACHS or to the first fix (= waypoint) of an arrival procedure (STAR/transition). In the US, an emergency often gets "cleared direct Kennedy (JFK)" or similar, and vectors afterwards (to clear them to the new destination).

Went so good until tower lol. They already said they wouldn’t be able to exit and need a tow. Not a huge deal, just wish handoffs could be improved. Not at all a fan of squeezing a departure out in front of an emergency. What if they abort TO or have an issue? Keep it clear so the emer doesn’t go around

I think the departure was a bit out; since this was a pan-pam type of situation not that big of a problem imo (and with enough fuel for a ga + 04L landing). There have been situations in which a plane with hydraulic/ nose wheel steering failure was able to take a high speed exit, so I don't blame twr that much for suggesting. I thought comms/information exchange worked pretty well (compared to other emergencies in the US)
