Hey guys it's been 43 days since I planted these seeds and yes it's time to harvest. After going through an ice storm and being without power for 5 days I am amazed at how unaffected the plants were. No light, No oxygen, 50 degrees in the house and still turned out great check it out.

Just an FYI, Pok Choi is one of the best plants that you can continually harvest. Just pick off the outer leaves and it will still keep growing and you can harvest it over and over again. You can do it with the Lettuce also at least the type that is considered loose leaf. As Nice as those plants looked I would think you could harvest them all year long.

Im gonna try that next time. When they get big Im gonna cut them down and see how many times I can harvest before they die out. Thanks for the idea

You can cut leaves as you go or try cut and come again. I like green romaine for tight spacing. Those Whisper aquarium pumps are good. Get the online price before going to the store- Petco will match it. Probably other stores too. You are also growing under reduced light which encourages large leaves.

Beautiful bok choi. I have never tastes them. Where I come from, the people that I asked they don't know. but I feel like getting some seeds so I can try them. I just started a mini Hydroponics. Just to see what happens. My first one is a pepper. It's been there for about a month and it's growing beautifully. Lots of blessings. My Hydroponics

Glad to hear your plants made it :) I think you should look into the Kratky growing method. It is the same setup you have just with no air stones. I think you are a bit closer to Kratky than DWC just because you are not keeping your water at the same level. I might be wrong about that. I know you topped you lettuce off with water. But I'm not sure if it was a full top off or if you just added some water. The Kratky system lets the nutrient solution get to about 2 inches then they maintain that level. I thought it was crazy but when I watched the roots that form on the plants I did that with it was amazing. I was growing tomatoes at the time and the roots mass got to be huge when I let the solution get low and maintained it at 2 inches. Are you still making videos? Or are you still growing lettuce? I would love to see any new videos you have :) Thank you so much for sharing :)

You know.. you can harvest the outer leaves to eat and then the smaller leaves will get bigger and then youll also have other new leaves growing also. You can keep some of these plants from bolting for a while I have heard.

I'm still here but far behind lol. I started a new job and it's swing shift so it's putting me behind on a lot of things. I'm hoping to plant everything this week and maybe do a video. Hoping to at least lol

do you think it would have worked just as well with 2 in net pots? I've got the same box and want to give it a go but don't have 3 inchers.

Son! I was using this same tote as a cloner but noticed it was WAY overkill for that; you've helped me change it into a DWC. Thank you!!! Two questions - how in the world did you fill it up? That's a 27 gals tote indoors... and did you do any water changes? Thanks again for sharing!

Lol your very welcome and yes it is a lot of water but I wanted a sturdy hardcore tote that wouldn't bulge out on the sides. I opened the window and brought in the water hose lol and no I never did any water changes . To get rid of the water after I harvested I had to buy an aquarium vacuum that hooks up to your sink or water hose
