I'm so obsessed with my heart, it's bpm, it's strength, when it flutters or I get weird chest cramps I really freak. I don't knowingly have heart or circulation problems so I have no clue how this started or how to end it most importantly.

I had the same thoughts all the time. I have gotten through it somewhat but there are times I will have those thoughts once in awhile. What I did was exposure therapy per say. I would go for walks with a hr monitor and purposely find a hill get my hr up and watch it come down. Did I panic some (yes but once it left I saw that I was okay so that gave me more and more confidence) I did this with my wife and overtime I saw that nothing happens when it goes up. It took a couple of weeks but I did it everyday. Next I will try and run and ride my bike so I can get back to my regular exercise routines. Hope this helps a bit. I know what it feels like so I am rooting for you!!

Yes! This was me 100%. I never in my life thought I would never not freak out about my heart rate. I'm talking about I couldn't even eat without keeping up with the rate. Everything was checked multiple times and came back fine. Even told me that my heart was perfect lol found out that it was linked to my fear of dying, my dad passed unexpectedly and I was raised VERY religious (which made me think if I died, I was going to hell because I didn't follow the same religious teachings as my parents) all of this contributed to my fear of dying. I started on countering those intrusive thoughts with facts(I listened to dennis explain how to start building a base this way, just start focusing on facts) for example if my heart felt like it was beating fast or whatever I would focus on what all the doctors told me and how normal all the tests were and told myself I'd be fine. Next I started doing inner work and reframing my idea around death. I have made so much progress, I now hike mountains by myself, exercise, drink coffee and don't think about my heartrate unless it's to see if I'm getting a good workout in lol I never thought I'd make it to this point. Sure, there are still intrusive thoughts sometimes about it but they are quickly shot down by the new perspective I have built around it. Sorry for the book, I just thought it would help you, helps to relate to people but more than that to hear what worked for them. It's important to not just get relief by knowing people are going through the same thing but to figure out how to fix it. I wish you all the best. Sending lots of healing vibes your way💛🙏💛🙏💛🙏💛

Oh yeah and no matter how much you want to, STOP checking your heart rate. It only strengthens your fear and keeps you in a destructive pattern. Of course I say make sure you get everything checked out if you feel there is a problem but after they tell you everything is fine twice (in my case like 20 lol) leave it alone and trust your body. 🙏💛

@@leahbee1827thank you so much for this. I am going through this, and have been for about 3 years now. I'm so mentally and physically tired of it. I'm also getting married in January and I want to be better so I can soak in the moment and not have this ruin my life anymore then it already does. Did you ever get weird chest pains

Lately my fear of driving and my anxiety attacks have gone away but my fear and negativity tht something is going to happen to me has been inside my head and making feel nauseous and gives me headaches and really tired is this still anxiety?

I struggle with the same anxiety. I worry that driving will put me too far from home for comfort. How did you get rid of the fear and anxiety attacks for driving?
@eddieruiz6655
@eddieruiz6655 2 жыл бұрын
@@kyle1732 well I did a variety of things, I remembered tht the reason I had this fear and anxiety of driving was because my first panic attack happened while I was driving and had thought it was something worse. So realizing why I got anxiety in the first place made me know tht I’m healthy and alright. Then I used something to distract my self either listening to music or podcasts while driving. Talking to someone once an a while was also very good and helpful as well as letting people close to you know how you feel and not lie. Thinking about happy memories and things you look forward to in the future also help massively which I need to do more of and not focus on the negatives. Ever since I stopped having anxiety attacks I feel like an empty void in me and then get tht butterflies in my stomach and end up making crazy scenarios in my head and being scared tht something will happen to me in the future.
@kyle1732
@kyle1732 2 жыл бұрын
@@eddieruiz6655 I appreciate the response that helps a lot. I understand the butterfly feeling. I get a feeling like a bowling ball dropped in my stomach and that is usually the beginning of the attack. Maybe the feeling is the addiction to suffering trying to find ways to effect you even though you fixed the anxiousness for the most part. You got this! If you can get past the attacks like you did you can get past anything!
@eddieruiz6655

@@kyle1732 thanks man I appreciate the words, and you’re right. These negative thoughts are trying to bring me back to my anxious state which I need to be aware of. It’s important to live the present and not be too much in the future or the past. Another thing abt driving anxiety is to give in to the attack and know you’ll be fine afterwards, I would always have attacks or have horrible symptoms around 6 pm when driving home from work. This is when I first had my panic attack. I could drive during the day and be mostly good except at this time. When I found out I was healthy and good and realized this while driving, I still had another panic attack but just let it happen and thought to my self tht I would be alright. And slowly the symptoms everyday began to ease. It’s important to keep fighting and know tht pain is temporary and something great is waiting for us when we heal. We got this!
