Main thing to take away is that deflecting projectiles is amazing.

could've reflected the projectile spread. its possible to hit like 6 of them into the boss at any given time.

+Ryan Stanley indeed, with better timing and positioning, projectile reflection is crazy good. This was more to help anyone who might have struggled with him, rather than go for the optimal quick kill.

here we are. the final boss. it's been a long, exciting, absurd, frustrating and colorful experience. but it ALL. ENDS. HEEERE. you're the man for these videos, Tterraj42. you shall not be forgotten. you should make walkthroughs for like Assassins Creed and Far Cry Primal. I know those are like 300000+ hour games and not really speed-runner-esque, but still could be fun. one love mang. PS: you posted this video on my birthday this year. sweeeeet.

Ah, well a bit late, but Happy Birthday :) was a pleasure sharing this journey through Hyper Light Drifter with you. I'm definitely going to be making more videos in this style, but probably not until later this year once things have settled down.

hey thank you so much Tterraj for your help through these tips . I could have enjoy the end at last. lol Really beautiful and nice indie game. ( i did like especially the parts of the end, when you follow the dog-sphinx and finally the door is closing but you can seeing still the dog). That seems like secret of mana on super nes or super famicom for us.

If you time it right, you can make him take enough dmg with the projectile deflect that he completley skips the laser attck and just goes for the bats

Yep! You can kill this guy silly fast if you're good. I'll leave that to the speedrunners though ;)

This is so well fought! I died about 10 times fighting him, lol, as I always got caught by his spider attack. Perhaps I was too greedy, always standing right next to him and trying to get as many slashes as possible when he was delivering the spider attack.

Indeed. The trick is to know when it's safe to attack, and when it's better to dodge. A very fun fight once you get the mechanics down.

Every time I kill him and finish the game i go back and see him still alive. Is that normal ?

Yes. It's so if you haven't collected everything, you can still continue to play. It wouldn't be very good if beating the final boss locked your save file so you had to start over. And this way you can go back and fight him whenever you want! :)

Do you know if there is a way to check for gearbits you missed on ps4?

Unfortunately not :( Nothing outside of making a checklist and backtracking. There's enough extra that you don't need them all for all the upgrades, but if you want the achievement... there's no easy way to do it.

The dash attack has crazy tracking or it's pretty easy to dodge?

+JBNRV - it's fast, but not too hard. Main thing is to just have some distance. He stops tracking right before he dashes.

I found out how to make this boss much easier by myself and I'm proud of that (yea I guess I came here to write that :P) , very cool boss , but u feel kinda bad when u obliterate him after knowing what to do XD

Yeah.. some say he's too easy, but I'd rather say he's well designed and fair once you know his attacks. Glad you found a good way to fight him :)

XD Thnx , the game isn't that hard for people experienced with difficult games but it's still an amazing game , the boss have a really nice moveset and design , sadly u don't see the whole moveset if you go the obliteration way :P , the north region's boss is the one that still manages to be a pain .

so collecting the 8 triangles for all the areas doesn't unlock another ending ? so what is it for ? Thanks and respet for all the work you did

+Dagoth Ur well, this file didn't have 100%. That said, I don't think there are multiple endings. Guess we'll find out soon. And thanks :) Finding all the secrets has been quite fun.
