Enjoyed your comparison, the brush-less is definitely better. I think your jig should have thicker and shorter wires, The short thinner wires are to long and thin for a 12volt system. While in this case it would not effect the comparison. Voltage drops inner per length of wire. Less with thicker wire. Amps drop due to resistance. Also for a given watt a "12 volt" system uses twice the amps as a "18 volt" system. I believe the 12 volt system has 3 lithium cells vs the 18 that has 6 cells. If you were comparing 18 to 12 using the jig it would be unfair. As batteries get better the lower volt systems will get better more then the higher volt systems from the effect. Brushless motors if keep cool can put out a great amount of power.

I like these honest reviews .Even though they keep trying to compare these tools to the bigger names sometimes. This was a nice comparison for the Diy ers. To have some tools in the house. I had enjoyed your commentary.

I purchased the 12 volt drill pack from Walmart to help with with some projects. NIce lil drill. Is there a storage case available for the drill & accessories ?

How about controllability at low speeds? IE: what is the slowest you can get one to move before the tool shuts down the motor? (the tool does shut down the motor when stalled to prevent damage to the wildings, which is possible because there is no air movement unless the motor spins)

I think the Brushed impact driver would be just as fast with the 4.0 AH battery. I bought 2 of those instead of upgrading to the brushless unit 👍

Save your money wait for Black Friday, M12 1/4 hex FUEL kits and Brushless 1/4 M18 impact kits can be had for $99.. Picked up another 1/4 M18 Impact brushless kit and Fuel M12 1/4 impact kit this month... Tons of Milwaukee tool kits with battery/charger for $99 this time of year.

I bought the m12 fuel kit for installing hundreds of interior and exterior LED light fixtures and a full size 18v drill would have sucked for that. Then this came out about 6 months later and if it was out then and I knew about it I absolutely would have gotten this impact and drill kit. Does the same thing I asked the m12’s to do but way way cheaper.

It’s pretty nice. I’ve had it for 6 months and I use it on a regular basis in the shop. So far so good. No reason to get the brushed in my opinion.

I definitely like the new hypertough tools and hart tools that Walmart carries. Especially for a truck tool box or a PM bag. Cheap tools that can get stolen without breaking your heart but still get a simple task completed.

who makes these? I know hart which I own is made by TTI same company that makes milwaukee, ryobi, and rigid and so far for my needs Hart is really great! :) But these look good for the size.

Looks can be VERY deceiving, especially these days. Places like Amazon and Temu are really getting great at making their tools look fancy, unfortunately fancy looks is all you get! :)

Even if for whatever reason the brushed verson would ever seem to put out more power, one will find that a bushless motor will far outlast a brushed motor. A brushless will almost always at very least, offer equal power in a smaller/lighter package (as seen here). Always use a 4ah battery with 12v or 20v, though I understand you are testing what comes in the package!! Great video by the way. I commend anyone that creates dynos of any sort to offer us consumers any information on the best product to purchase. Given todays economy and Bidenomics, budgets are tight, and wallets are light!!!

I actually have a Ryobi brushless impact driver thats dieing after 1 big project. We were pushing it hard I own that, 3 people, 4 batteries and 3 chargers kept it running non stop for 6 solid hours. It now surges and is way down on power. It is smaller and lighter then any other Ryobi impact driver, thats why I got it in the first place. I will buy another one, probably the updated multi speed version. Ill just use Ryobi’s price point to have multiple drivers and let each one rest/cool while the battery recharges. The power on all the cordless tools is unreal now, brushed and brushless. The draw of the brushless is the form factor and weight. Unreal. When the Ryobi was new it could zip off wheel lugs, as can its modern brushed counterpart. Just 1/4 inch impact drivers zipping off wheel lugs no problem. Not a streign, not pushing, not getting hot, or riding, 3 seconds each torqued to 100ft lbs, had been on the car for two iowa winters. Zip, zip, zip all 5.
