Hyperglycemia is the term given to when your blood sugar levels are higher than 10 mmol/L. Blood sugar levels levels exceeding 7 mmol/L can damage internal organs, however, symptoms may not develop until blood glucose levels exceed 15 mmol/L so it's worth knowing about the symptoms of hyperglycemia and how to recognise the symptoms.

Diabetes doesn't happen overnight. We should be looking at our blood glucose reading earlier and adjust our diet if we get glucose spikes after our meals. It clearly shows that this way of eating is causing hyperglycemia which can one day result in type 2 diabetes. We should focus on prevention.

It's clear that chronic high glucose levels lead to health issues, but can you clarify what's wrong with temporary glucose spikes? Like the ones caused by eating a banana or an apple. Is it a great workout for the beta cells in the pancreas to quickly ramp up insulin production? Thank you in advance, somehow I can't find any good research on this topic.

Is it possible to have hyperglycemia with low blood sugar levels? I’ve had a handful of instances where I’d get really lightheaded, dizzy, shortness of breath, rapid heart rate, shortness of breath and in severe cases, which has happened to me a couple times now, I would faint and go into a seizure. This happened to me last night, but thankfully i didn’t faint or have a seizure from it. I rode it out for the night and decided to get checked out the next morning and my blood pressure was higher than normal. The last time this happened to me was 2 years ago and I went to the er immediately and got both blood work and chest X-rays done and from what I could remember they told me me that everything looked good.

As a surgeon I see many patient are with so much hypoglycemia many times because they do not follow the instruction of taking the injection or tablets when to take and how to take. The instruction to be given correctly by seeing the HbAc1 test and the urine to tested three times after one and half or two hours after food and to tested for urine sugar in case of Diabetic1 and four times blood sugar .After that only we have to decide the injection or oral anti diabetic tablets

I'm confused between the symptom differences of hypo and hyper. Are you saying with hypo you get irritable and drowsy but with hyper you just get hyperactive?
