Jes, you can buy some fiber (thready type bits) in the concrete area of those big box stores that you can add to the mixture to strengthen it and keeps it from cracking (for tuture projects). When you unmold, some of the ends of the fiber stick will be sticking out, I just use a gas lighter to burn them off once completely dried. You might also consider curing the unmolded product a little longer (in a plastic bag) to prevent them from drying too quickly (cracks). Have fun and all the best.

Love the planter. And that weathered wood crate does enhance it. Your family is so talented. Your parents must be very proud of you all. I just started growing succulants this past Winter inside. Ordered a batch from California dealer. I grew one hen & chicks outside a few yrs ago and still have a pic of the flower. I take close ups of all the flowers I grow.
