Hypnotic & deep techno session played live & recorded reel to reel, using revox b77, roland space echo re-201, sequential dsi prophet 6, tempest, prophet 12, vermona perfourmer mkII, moog subphatty, elektron octatrack, strymon bigsky & timeline, acidlab bassline 3, livid cntrl-r, ableton live for samples & recorded analog sequences.
All the all synth on the stand are going thru the mackie mixer. All the synth are midi slaves and sequenced by the Octatrack. To fade in or out a synth, i use the cutoff filter mostly and when the sound is almost vanished, i shut down the sequenced midi channel on the Octatrack. On the Mackie mixer are coming external auxilliar fx like Space echo, Time line & Bigsky. Each channel/synth can get the proper amount of fx i want at anytime. Also i root 3 output channels from the Tempest to the Mackie : 1 stereo & 1 mono. I can use the send fx on those channels (usually stereo is for tempest synth and mono for rythm elements) That's all for the Mackie ! the stereo output is going to the soundcard Input channel. The Tempest is midi sync by usb from the computer/ableton's clock as well as the Octatrack. I use Tempest & Octatrack midi thru to sync bassline 3, volca keys & timeline. For this jam i use rythm sounds (clap, snare, hhat, tom, white noise, rimshot, etc..) & polysynth from the Tempest. All the kickdrums are Tempest analog homemade, most of them played straight from it, one is recorded and played from the Octatrack audio sequencer. As i said, 3 channels of the Tempest are root to the mackie, the 3 other mono are going straight to the soundcard. Same for the Octatrack audio & the Bassline 3. Concerning Ableton, i control the mix, the send fx & mute with livid cntrl-r. I play samples, loops and recorded sequences which i launch with an ipad & TouchAble app.
Listen to this session on Soundcloud

I hope you will enjoy this one too !

@ I was just talking to someone about how many self-produced artists are doing wonderful things these days, on YT, Soundcloud, etc. going way beyond the "classics" of electronica in terms of groove, precision, style definition, all the ingredients. No comparison, the music is evolving so fast, it's like jazz now in some ways. And I definitely was thinking of your work as the perfect example, but this Hypnotic session is the one that "got" me the most. I guess I have been hypnotized

Always worth the wait! Just out of interest how long does it take you to set up a jam session like this?
7 жыл бұрын
Depends, this one not much cause only 2 tracks.. it took me like 3 weekends (more like friday/saturday/sunday afternoons-evenings). It's getting more intense close to the end of it, with the video and stuff.. and finally usually brings back my tinnitus so that makes me stop for several weeks after. :/
@BluffMunkey
@BluffMunkey 7 жыл бұрын
Ah man, sucks about the tinnitus, really sorry to hear about that :( It doesn't appear to effect the final product though, it sounds perfect. I'm not surprised it takes you such a long time to put the video together though. It's a proper full on production. I rarely take more than an hour or two, but they're nothing like yours lol!
7 жыл бұрын
I have those little fellows in my ears since 10 years and it doesn't affect my audition, i have an almost flat audiogram but still.. sometime very boring. I can't be full on studio like i use to be :/ Fortunatly, most of the time i don't hear them. :) The video part is such pain in the ass for me... i recon for this jam, i did less that 2 previous ones concerning the video... i wish i had some guy with me to take care of it. Instead of focusing on the jam, i have to take care of setting of cameras, turn them on, charge the batteries, etc.. and when you miss your take, you have to restart all the process.. it drive me crazy sometime ! And i always occur some troubles like batteries discharges during recording, even the revox did some weird stuff for this jam haha And the tragicaly funniest thing is that the first trial take is always the best.. but it is the one you never record haha

@soyezql
@soyezql 5 жыл бұрын
Not the other way around friend;) and obviously it is preferable to pay an entrance to a concert to see a musician play an instrument, to play live music, that is the first law of an electronic musician, I will only see electronic musicians that they play live music, also not crazy to pay to see someone who only does press buttons and mix music
@soyezql
@soyezql 5 жыл бұрын
Let me correct you for example I did not know this musical genre for a simple dj that the only thing that it does is mix music, I know it thanks to discover electronic musicians on the radio or to go to the music stores to buy cd`so vinyls next to me father (now I am 18 years old) so I can say that through a dj you can not know musical genres, since they are not fixed to a single genre, the dj`s did not create the electronic music they were the electronic musicians who created them, and that matters and will always matter more to a musician than a person who mixes music, and certainly do not refer to electronic musicians as musical producers, for example since my 13 years never call me or present me as a music producer since I am not , I am an electronic and acoustic musician ... so depending on looking for the triumph through a dj is something unfortunate, this artist Vosne is superior to many "electronic legends" that is why you should share this type of thinking We NEED MORE ELECTRONIC MUSICIANS AND LESS DJ'S ( also i kept buying cd`s and vinyl )

Nice stuff , hypnotic and melodic without being cheesy. Hard balance to get right IME. Thank you for creating this and posting it to share!

this sounds aamaaazzeeballss. much better than I can produce in the studio. My music+beats sounds cheesy compared to this Some say cheesy is good, though. Would love to stand next to you during a set! You could totally gig this out and get paid I think , if you aren't already. the track is deep and fluctuates frequently.

man this guy is out of this world.amazing sounds. Does anyone know if you can load your own samples into the tempest?
7 жыл бұрын
Andres gualtero thx for the words 🙏no, you can't load your own samples into the tempest. Octatrack does it. Or analog rytm. Tempest is more like a synth with few samples inside.

thanks Vosne, i really don't know why your not out touring the world with this. in my opinion your one of the top dub techno producers.

Andres gualtero thx Andres 🙏 i actually did music for a living for a decade from early 2000 😉 i left few gig's videos of my previous project on this channel but it's a little bit old and quality isn't really top notch haha i have other activities now but i'm working to get back on tour a little bit 🎶

Do you like your tempest better than the electron? Even for drum sounds I think I like the sound of the tempest better. I'm not sure which fits better in a mix tho without hearing it in person
