As part of my code clean up so I can also maintain the dots properly, all my Arch-install scripts will from this repo

To install Hyprland from new repo
git clone github.com/JaKooLit/Arch-Hypr...
cd Arch-Hyprland
chmod +x install.sh
./install.sh

The v4 installer-script is based on Hyprland-v3 with re-structured install script
You can use this installer on any Arch based distros (except maybe Manjaro) because Manjaro have a different repo especially for nvidia and linux-headers.

I just installed v3 yesterday. I guess I’m a little behind! Everything thing works amazingly well. Thank you for the awesome scripts! Works way better than anything I have tried as far as wayland/Hyprland. Outstanding work! Thank you so much for creating this! BTW, running on MacBook Pro mid 2014 on top of ALCI.

Using your scripts and configs! Thanks! Installed Garuda Sway and ran your script on top of it Except the Swaylock, everything works like a charm.

hey guys, hyprland is currently broken on nvidia due to a bug in wlroot but it has been fixed in the git and will be working by the next release

@@Ja.KooLit Just got enough free time to install it today and it installed it pretty much correctly other than one icon not showing and foot terminal font has large spaces (Droid Sans Bold> font does not appear to be monospace;) Btw I tried to join the discord to ask aobut this, and the link seems to be expired/invalid.

hi I have corrected the discord link discord.com/invite/ebkZafRPUX Anywat, by any change you have edited the fonts part of the install script? You can edit the ~/.config/foot/foot.ini for fonts wanted and size. Which icon was not showing?

@@Ja.KooLit Hi! Well I got all of the issues fixed by installing fonts-droid-fallback from AUR. I don't know if this is the best way to fix this, but at least it works currently. Same for the icons. The icons that were missing was the CPU icon and the network speed icon? (it says 1.9G for example, not sure what it is). I will join the discord either way, thank you!

as of today, 24 Sep, 2023, theres a new update on archinstall script. Ran update, pacman -Sy archlinux-keyring archinstall to update the script. before running archinstall. Bear in mind, archinstall script is installing kitty and dolphin, which I dont use on my script. . If you decide to to use kitty and dolphin, ensure to change or edit Keybinds.conf located in ~/.config/hypr/configs and waybar modules and scripts inside ~/.config/hypr. Dolphin is not using gtk theme (if I remember it correctly) so it may not support dark and light mode change. Another thing is pipewire audio server has been fixed

Hello, I installed this on my Arch KDE plasma rather than on fresh install. I didnt get any errors while Installation but when i try to login from Hyprland session in new SDDM, i cant log IN. The SDDM keeps refreshing everytime I login. I can login from Plasma environment but thats my old environment.

zzzzzzzz.... I dont know why my comment was gone.. I did reply but it doesnt appear.... check the installation logs. Look for errors... if all ok, on sddm page, press ctrl alt f3 or f2. Log in as normal user, after login type Hyprland ... normally states in there the issue... kindly join my discord server as I need a screenshot

How do you manage the integrated/dedicated graphics cards on your system? Any specific tool that works well under wayland? Thanks for the amazing script by the way!

as far as I know screenshare in hyprland and any other wayland or wlroots base are broken. Apart from gnome I think

I dont know I havent tried.. But when you decided to use the script, just choose no. and when ask at the end to start Hyprland answer as no then install the desired nvidia drivers and stuff. Cause if you choose Y as an asnwer to nvidia question, it will install latest nvidia-dkms

so my dGPU is nvidia and iGPU is amd depending on if my laptop is on battery or not. would it matter when configuring hyprland?

wouldnt matter... just make sure your batter is enough... if it dies while installing, then you might have issues. one thing to remember though, most laptop, when they are unplugged, they tend to "slow" down to save battery but result in slower performance

hey all... Hey JaKoolit...i have a old I5 Desktop Pc with a intel gpu on board.so Computer is old. when i install it this was like u do it in video i get a blackscreen when i log in first time in hyprland. i only can see the mouse Arrow and i can move it . but the rest of the screen in complete black. i need help. sorry i m a neewbie on linux. but i wanna switch frrom windows 2 linux and i luv the hyprland . maybe any help ? first off, did you install the v4 or new Arch-Hyprland script? the v4 is old and I dont support it anymore.. simple because I dont remember the setup before github.com/JaKooLit/Arch-Hyprland suggest to install this one you can ran from your arch now super enter git clone --depth=1 github.com/JaKooLit/Arch-Hyprland.git ~/Arch-Hyprland cd ~/Arch-Hyprland chmod +x install.sh ./install.sh

@@Ja.KooLit thx alot 4 the fast answer my friend. i restart a fresh Install of my System with Archinstaller and choose multi desktop KDE AWESOME HYPRLAND and SWAY. NOW I M DONE BOOT and LOGIN FIRST on The KDE PLASMA 6 DESKTOP and NOW im running the new version on your githib the v2.3 and run the install now in Terminal . i wait 2 finish and hope that fix my blacksceen. i have no nvidia i just have a old I5 HP desktop computer with no external pci GPu it is just a GPu from intel on board . i hope that it works. maybe u got any tips . maybe it is the grphik driver ? i dont know i m just a neebie in the linux World and try my best 2 get windowss from all of my computers.

@@Ja.KooLit i try my best with new install of arch KDE and then run yout latest version of Arch-Hyprland take over 1 hour and still the same when i log in into hyprland the screen turn Black and i ony see the Mouse Arrow and i can move the Mouse but no wallpaper no waybar nothing on screen just the Mouse Arrow. need help please . How can i Fix that ? any idea ?

I didn't get any errors while Installation but when I try to login from Hyprland session in new SDDM, i cant log in. The SDDM keeps refreshing everytime I login. I installed it on endeavouros with no desktop. Also when I press ctrl alt f3 and login as normal user and type Hyprland error showing "zsh: command not found: Hyprland". Please help me to solve this error

when youre in command prompt, try to reinstall Hyprland paru or yay -S hyprland-git youre posting on my old video, which installer did you use? new or old? I did put a warning that I stop supporting old installers as the configs are just outdated

😞i installed hyprland using your v2.1 script everything was working fine but few months ago an update came, and after that hyprland isn't working on my GTX 1060, it should something related to 'wlroots' i even asked people on hyprland discord but even they couldn't help, so I have switched to qtile yesterday

awww... yeah I remember watching or reading about vaxry's frustration to wlroots. wlroots is being maintained by sway team and he wanted to change lots of things but they simply ignore him or takes forever. And of course nvidia, being nvidia, makes it even more harder for wayland team to fix things

After install, my laptop can’t boot to arch. It go to bios menu. Seem grub boot have problem

@@Ja.KooLit yes, it’s archinstall script. When i choice systemd-boot with linux kennel it’s ok. But can’t boot with choice grub

@linuxfan2104 I see... well the dev probably messed up the script again or bug just like last month.. anyway, some guys reported that july 2023 Arch linux iso does not have archinstall issues. I may have to take a look at archinstall again in the next few days and report to github just like I reported last month

your gpu is quite old... i dont know if it supports.. my script should work BUT you need to set up the nvidia part first.. when script ask if you have nvidia, choose N.. but I like I said, you need to set up nvidia, ie drivers

ctrl alt f2 or f3 log in as usual. if passwd accept. Try sudo systemctl restart sddm then try log in again

For me when i installed the hyperland-v4 it works pretty well but when i logout it just blackscrean an now i can’t login in the hyperland and it login when i switch to my kde it works i have them both installed j
